Great cottage in an amazing location.. Ideal for walking in surrounding area and within short distance of many brilliant historical places .

August 2020
The cottage was really comfortable and a really special place for a couple to enjoy.. Everything was supplied and the owner had left contact details should there be any questions or anything else we required which was really appreciated. The village was tranquil with lots of lovely walks around and only 1 1/2 mile walk to the nearest town. I would highly recommend this property, cozy wee lounge, big spacious bedroom, outdoor space both back and front, a place to enjoy

This lovely comfy clean cottage is a little a gem, a great base for exploring Snowdonia.. A warm welcome pack was left by the owners for ourselves and the dog! Angie and Rich thought of everything down to the bottle of wine and dog treats to the chocolates left on the pillows.

This was the best equipped holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.. The welcome pack was excellent and the spices and general cooking extras were very much appreciated. Angie (the owner) seems to have thought of everything from boxes of tissues all over the place to a very well produced visitors information book. Everything about this cottage says its owners know what they are doing when it come to holiday lets. The cottage is wonderfully situated for exploring the Snowdonia area and the North Wales coast. Eating out is really good with many different place to dine and if you live in the 'rip off' South East you will find the prices very reasonable. Thank you Angie and Rich.

Excellent cottage - very home from home feel.. Plenty of room for 2 people and 2 dogs. On 1 occasion were couldn't park our car as the parking spaces were all taken and you cannot park directly in front of the cottage as you would block the road. To be honest this wasn't really a problem for us. Its located in a beautiful area with plenty to see.
Miss Parkes, April 2019
April 2019
Cottage was in a great location for touring Snowdonia and the coast.. Details on website were accurate so no disappointments. Owners left drinks and snacks as a welcome - this gesture was appreciated. Large comfortable bed so ideal for great rest after an active day in hills. Would use this again without hesitation.

We had the most wonderful time staying at Bwthyn Ger Afon.. It is a lovely cottage; beautifully furnished and very stylish. The multi-fuel burner is a great advantage making the cottage cosy and warm. It is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The owners have thought of everything - a wonderful welcome pack including fuel for the fir and there are lots of extras including tea towels, washing up liquid, good local information book, books, games, dvds and even lavender spray for our pillows. The cottage is well placed for great walks or a short drive from other glorious places to visit. We felt welcomed and believe this to be one of the best cottages we have stayed in due to the attention to detail and comfort. We shall return.

The cottage was just perfect and the location ideal for all we wanted to do.. Considering we only decided the day before to visit wales and stay in a cottage, it all was sorted quickly and with no problems. Angie the owner was most helpful and left essentials and gifts of wine and chocolate .. a lovely touch.

The cottage was lovely, clean and cosy.. The guest information was extremely good and very detailed telling us important and interesting things about the cottage and places to visit in the area. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could want with tea, coffee etc all provided. We had been left milk, wine, crisps and cake which was a lovely thought and most welcome after a long journey. Treats had also been left for our dog which he enjoyed. There are numerous walks in the locality and many places to go where you can sight see or walk.

The cottage was comfy and cosy located in a quiet area although very central to the whole of Snowdonia and within easy reach of the coast. The cottage provided a welcome haven at the end of the day where we could cook a meal, relax and watch television whilst toasting our toes by the log fire. The scenery in the area is spectacular with many lakes and mountains, plenty to do and plenty to see.

We have just had a wonderful holiday in a Charming 18th Century Miner's Cottage. The owners Angie and Rich had thought of everything and even left for us a lovely Bara Brith Cake and a bottle of wine with a card wishing us a nice holiday. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk even herbs and spices were supplied. It was very clean and the King size bed was very comfortable just what you needed after a climb up Snowdon!. The Cottage is very well Located and Tanygrisiau is very picturesque village with some wonderful walks to go on. All the Information for the walks and attractions in the surrounding area are all there for you to read in the cottage. You really don't want for anything. We were blessed with lovely weather and were able to do all we had planned to do. I have a feeling that we will be returning to this wonderful cottage as there is still so much to see and do!

Absolutely fantastic cottage, the owners have gone out of their way to make this a home from home including everything you could think of possibly wanting and everything that probably didn't even enter your head! The wealth of information on the surrounding area was superb, we visit Snowdonia a fair amount and even we learnt about new walks near Ffestiniog that we'd never come across before, we barely went anywhere else this time as we had too much fun exploring. Without a doubt we will be returning to this cottage, just superb!

July 2014
The cottage was perfectly comfortable for two, well equipped and the welcome groceries a nice touch. The owners had left lots of local information and maps which encouraged us to take a walk from the cottage up the hill, to a deserted slate mining village, which was fascinating and a beautiful walk. Afterwards the cafe by the reservoir was a perfect place for brunch. There were shops and other facilities only a mile or so away and the cottage was in a perfect location for exploring the beautiful Snowdonia national park. We especially enjoyed Portmeirion, Snowdon, Conwy, the slate caverns and museum and the sandy beaches including Barmouth and Harlech

The owners have taken great care to provide an extremely comfortable and well planned cottage. In particular, the kitchen was a delight to cook in. I have learnt from experience to take a sharp knife, decent wooden spoons, tongs, cling-film, aluminium foil, kitchen towel, tea bags, herbs and spices etc etc, no need in this cottage they are all there for you! I cannot praise highly enough how thoughtful the owners have been.

An excellent cottage in a quiet little village. Speaking to the owner for key arrangements was pleasant as she was very friendly and easy to talk to. The cottage is very welcoming, with a card, cake, a pint of milk in the fridge and even some treats for the dog. It has a very homely feel to it and is brilliantly equipped with everything you'll need for a stay there. The parking was decent, off road parking is a must for me so that was ideal. Overall highly recommended.
