Buttermere also boasts a beautiful outdoor terrace area equipped with furniture and private parking for one car. Sitting within ten acres of land, the cottage is surrounded by woodland, meadows and a pond with an abundance of wildlife on the doorstep. Buttermere Cottage is three miles from the towns of Cockermouth and Lorton, both filled with shops and restaurants, and just a six-mile drive from the quieter western lakes, including Ennerdale, winner of Britain's Best View. Cockermouth is a small market town located in the north-western part of the Lake District. Cockermouth offers a variety pubs, shops and eateries. The main attraction in the area are the many walking opportunities available and William Wordsworth's Georgian family home. Nearby is the town of Keswick which also has loads to offer!
