August 2020
Lovely cottage, cosy and very clean.. Exceptionally beautiful surroundings, really quiet except for the sheep and cattle (we really liked our fourlegged neighbours), views of mountains 360° around. Cakes, tea and milk to welcome us, so sweet. Owners are really friendly. Cottage was pretty, everything we needed was there. Water pressure in shower very poor; couldn't possibly have washed my long hairs there, and bath doesn't have a shower head. Only stayed for a few days instead of our planned two weeks due to coronavirus regulations getting stricter. Hope to return one day. Area seems very pretty.

Great cottage.. Well appointed. Good for those who like seclusion and the great Welsh weather. Fantastic base for exploring the Rhinog Mountains.

Lovely cottage, scrupulously clean and very well equipped.. It was clear that owner had thought carefully about making house Covid-safe. We loved the location but realise that not everyone likes to be so isolated. Generous amount of fuel included so we used the wood burner every evening- lovely and cosy. The only thing that would make it even better is if local footpaths around the house were clearly signed with gates that could be opened easily. They are shown on map but following them on the ground is a bit harder. Realise this may not be something that the owner can sort. Thank you we had a fabulous week.

Perfect! We are a family of five with a 10,8 and 2 year old so an outdoors holiday is ideal, it suits everyone! The location is perfect and Mount Snowdon was easily accessible. The cottage has plenty of space and the hosts left us treats and milk for our arrival. The fire was so cosy in this weather. The kids loved the house, plenty of toys and places to play hide and seek. The WiFi is Good! Caught a sunset one evening, the views are stunning. We will definitely return in the summer as the outside area looked like a sun trap. Thanks for a lovely stay. The Farrar’s X

Such an amazing place to stay .. . it was cosy and exactly what we were looking for .. the pictures of the cottage do not do the place justice it is much nicer and cosier than the pictures show .. the little extras such as cake and milk the owner leaves for you as a guest was such a lovely touch location was exactly what we wanted (rural) if you don't want to travel anywhere this isn't the place for you .. I can't praise this cottage enough it was amazing

Stunning cottage in draw droppingly beautiful surroundings.. A wonderful retreat as the cottage is completely on its own, except for the sheep and cows in the surrounding fields. Wonderful hospitality from the friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. A great location with access to some of the most beautiful mountains of snowdonia. Loads of toys, games, dvds and information on local attractions. And a huge fireplace with wood burning stove - perfect for snuggling up in front of after a long day walking!

The cottage was everything we expected and more.. A quiet location close to fabulous cycling and walking. The cottage was well equipped, clean, tidy and a handy folder gave clear instructions for all of the appliances. Friendly owners who left cake, milk and tea for our arrival - yummy!

Fantastic accommodation.. We have two small suggestions: 1) Supply a filter coffee machine 2) Improve the lighting in the sitting room with more side lights

A spacious and fantastically well equipped holiday home in a stunning location.. Surrounded by farmland with distant views from every window, and only the sheep, cows and birds as neighbours. Gloriously peaceful and a great location to explore Snowdonia, mid and North Wales. A rare treat for those of us that prefer to self-cater in that there was everything we could possibly need to cook a variety of meals. Lovely owners too who could be contacted if needed, and who provided delicious home-made cake on arrival! We certainly hope to return to this fabulous holiday home!

We had an excellent holiday at Bryn Re.. The cottage was warm and comfortable, clean and well equipped. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The views from the cottage in all directions are magnificent - something we will remember for a long time. Other than the owner (and the sheep) we did not see or hear a soul which we loved! Good walks from the door or a good base to explore the area. If you want peace and quiet off the beaten track with dark night skies and distant mountains, a cosy cottage with log burner and you enjoy just looking at the view, Bryn Re could be for you.

We had a lovely week here in June. Can not fault it. Beautiful private farmhouse. 360 degree views of farmland, mountains. The owners were very friendly. They lived about 10 miles away and met the farmer Bryn when he was rounding up some sheep with his beautiful welsh collie. Lovely sheep as neighbours but hardly heard them. It was a windy cool day when we arrived and when we entered the lounge a log fire greeted us already lit by Bryn's wife for us. Lovely welsh cakes and goodies in the kitchen by the kettle !! Comfy sofa, chairs, beds. Television. Garage for 2 cars and plenty more space on drive. Secluded but near many great places and towns and seaside. The train trip from Portmadog to Caernarfon on the great highland steam train was outstanding. Perfect week for us. Thanks guys !!

The cottage was in a great location, very quiet and lots of outdoor activities on its door steps (entrance lane off A470 easily missed though, especially at night.. My advise is, first time arriving try and get there in the daylight!). The cottage was very clean and very comfortable. Our hosts were great and very welcoming; lighting the log burner prior to use arriving to give a cosy warm house to walk into (and providing some delicious cakes to welcome us). The cottage was very warm with the central heating (without lighting the log burner). The cottage is very well provisioned with a very comprehensive kitchen, utility room and board games in the living room etc. There is plenty of wood for the log burner for multiple days of use. All round, a great place with great hosts. I would definitely return.

The house was fantastic and exactly as described! The kitchen was modern and had everything we needed, far more than just a basic set of pans! There was a big cupboard full of toys, games and puzzles, which was brilliant to have on hand for a 2 year old. There was ample firewood to warm things up on an evening and having it all undercover directly from the house was really helpful. When we arrived there was fresh milk (from the farm) and homemade cake provided, which was such a nice touch and the owners were very friendly indeed! The only point I would say is that some form of sign or more easily visible landmark would have been good from the main road to find the top entrance. Anything distinctive from a distance would have helped a great deal upon arrival. Really lovely and memorable holiday for us, thank you so much!

My partner and myself stayed at Bryn Re for the week 3rd sept to 10th sept 2016. The cottage is really great, (the pictures do not do it justice) The approach to the cottage is off the main road and down a farm track (give the sheep a little wave on the way) When you reach the cottage there is undercover parking with a door leading into the utility room (freezer , microwave and downstairs toilet) from that you go onto the large and very well equipped kitchen, you really don't need to take any pots /pans/utensils. Waiting for us was a welcome pack consisting of milk, cake , tea , coffee and welsh cakes a nice touch!. Next the dining room with large dining table. The living room is again lovely with a log burner (logs ready cut and included in rental cost) upstairs 3 bedrooms again well laid out with ample storage and a family bathroom with bath and separate shower. There are 2 outside sitting/dining areas with stunning views. The area is lovely, you can walk around the nearby lake if you are feeling energetic and there is also a cafe (lovely breakfasts) at the lake and an activity centre. I won't go into all the places to visit there too many, but I would like to say take a trip into nearby Dolgellau lovely little town with independent shops , bars and eateries including takeaways should the mood take you. Also don't miss a visit to Borth there is not much there but the coastline is breathtaking. Porthmadog is also well worth a visit with it's long main street full of shops, although it has a very busy road running through it. Overall Bryn Re cottage is a very welcoming and relaxing base and the area has something to suit all tastes and fitness levels so if you want to go boating /cycling/hill walking or if you just want to mooch about the towns and villages you will find it all here.

The cottage was perfect, with everything we could possibly need. It is also particularly secluded. It is perfect for a proper 'get away from it all' break.

We loved the peace and quiet, with only the sheep and lambs for neighbours. It was perfect for walking with lots of historic remains which were really interesting. We had a lovely welcome from the owner and we are going to book for next year.

An extremely well furnished cottage with very new and modern kitchen. All the facilities are excellent. The cottage itself s in a beautiful setting, remote but not too remote. I would certainly recommend this cottage to all and everyone.

What a beautiful cottage with picturesque views of Snowdonia National Park! We really enjoyed our stay and found the cottage to have everything you need. It was so lovely to sit outside and watch the day go by. Also in a great location for Zipworld and Bounce Below which is only 12 miles away. Would love to return, highly recommend.

A fantastic cottage in a beautiful, remote location. It was extremely clean, tidy and well equipped; we had a very comfortable stay.

The accommodation was excellent and more than we thought it would be. It was lovely and peaceful (even with sheep for neighbours, we didn't notice them after about two days) which is just what we wanted. The owners made us feel very welcome, and were very friendly and were there if we needed them. This is what made this a brilliant holiday.

July 2014
The cottage was gorgeous, it was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The car port allowed us to unpack the car in the dry, although we only saw rain on the day that we arrived. The quiet, off-road location was wonderful. We loved watching the bats at night and the other wildlife each day. An absolute 'gem' of a holiday home and a holiday to remember with so much to do in the area.
Mr Jevons

It was away from the crowds and we had magnificent weather all week! There were wonderful views all around and it was pitch black of an evening to view the stars.
Mrs Davies
May 2014
Cottage was always warm, lovely log fire. Everything you could want was there, although no internet there was a good reception for mobiles and was able to receive internet on the phone, which was enough for my needs. The owners were great and nothing was too much trouble and we were spoilt with delicious basket of goodies. The area was good it was near everything and for all sports, cycling, walking, fishing and great beaches and lots of history and castles.
Mrs Majak
April 2014
It had everything you need in a house. Everything was in excellent working condition. I have already recommended this property to friends and family and I will definitely go back! I liked the fact that its detached and away from noise of main road and the owners were very helpful, polite and we knew if we needed anything they would support. The property was clean, warm and cosy. Also, the children could play outside safely with the gates shut, it was lovely to leave the children to play outside without fear. Definitely go back again.

The cottage was in a magnificent location with great views all around and our two small children really enjoyed watching the lambs. It is warm, cosy and very well equipped. The mountain bike trails at Coed-y-Brenin are some of the best in Britain and they are within easy riding distance. We spent a few days at Harlech Beach which is unspoilt and has miles of golden sand. We really appreciated the cake on arrival too!
