A traditional Welsh stone cottage. Very central to all amenities but in a quiet position. There are great pubs and restaurants lovely local shops and some great walks all within a stonethrow. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Lovely and warm on a chilly Autumn evening. Can highly recomend

Our second time staying in this beautiful cottage.. Ideally placed for exploring the area and for walks from your doorstep. It is quite easily the most well equipped cottage we have stayed in. Sykes customer service excellent - we even received a phone call on our journey to the cottage to inform us that the owner had temporarily changed her contact details. Impressive in a time where customer service seems to lack! Thank you Sykes Cottages!

It was a lovely cottage, excellently placed in Dolgellau.. The cottage was just right although we could have done with another comfy chair in the lounge, as with the three of us, my boys being teenagers and both taller than myself, needed space but that might just be our situation. Lovely little courtyard for sitting out in, couldn't get the car in the garage, did try but as it says the turning space is tight. You can park on the single yellows opposite from 6.00 pm to 9. 00.am though and at the weekend you can park in the Drs car park which is just opposite as well. Parking permit for long stay car park a real bonus as you can use it in any of the council's long stay car parks, just check the council is the same. We climbed Cadre idris. It is strenuous, and even if you don't quite manage to get to the top it is very pretty. We only got to about 810 metres,as the cloud was low and very thick on the day we went,so decided to come down again as we really couldn't see. Snowdon, was the same although we did make it to the summit. Please be prepared, when going, the weather can change very quickly and be warm/hot at ground level but freezing/wet and windy at the summit. We came across so many people who were ill prepared for the weather change and didn't know the rout they should take down! Quite alarming. It's is Rocky and steep there is no continual path and you do need good walking boots with ankle support, waterproofs, hats and gloves.. Although Barnmouth might not be your cup of tea, it is an interesting drive and would recommend going a little further up the coast for the beach. Harlech is worth a visit, go straight to the long stay car park, lots of cafes, castle is lovely, good to explore and do try the ice cream shop opposite it's lush! Dolgellau is well catered for with enough shops to get everything you might need, gatehouse steakhouse was excellent but doesn't take card payments. If you want to eat out on the Friday night, book before hand for any restaurant in that area, especially in high season. Really enjoyed our week and would recommend.

As parking was a problem (unless you had a car small enough to get in the garage) it was great that a parking permit was included with the cottage and it more than made up for the five minute walk to the long stay car park.. Cottage excellent the only thing I would mark it down on was the dust and cobwebs on the beams in the main bedroom - I had to get them down!! Otherwise absolutely lovely. We liked the downstairs hall which was great for drying out a wet dog! Would recommend this cottage as a great base for the area (disappointed that the weather stopped me getting up Cadair Idris)

Had a really great time at this cottage, owner was welcoming and friendly.. House was very comfortable with everything already in place that you could possibly need, lovely and clean and perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area, we didn't want to leave. Booking very easy and really enjoyed the sykes app telling us all info we required from weather in the area to where to eat and things to do as well as our booking details. Loved it!!!!

We had a lovely fortnight in this cosy, comfortable cottage, very well placed in Dolgellau for exploring southern Snowdonia.. It was hugely useful having the garage for off-street parking. The garage is, as advertised, only suitable for small-to-medium cars due to the width of the doorway and the narrow road which restricts turning. We were able to (very carefully) reverse our Ford Focus Estate into the garage but only when there were no cars parked opposite. We had to fold our wing mirrors in to get through the door though, so any car wider than our Focus would not fit. The garage is wider inside than its door so there was space for unloading etc.

This was our 4th holiday in Dolgellau and by far the best.. The cottage was perfect for us and ideally situated in the heart of the town. Close by were the Mawdach trail, precipice walk, forestry biking/walking trails, Barmouth and Portmeirion as well as countless other beautiful walks. This was the third cottage we had stayed in at Dolgellau and definitely the best. We will be back next year.

This little cottage is beautiful and a great base to explore the area. All home comforts, beautifully appointed, couldn't ask for more! The only downside is that parking is a bit tricky, but not a problem. Either on road parking, which is a short walk from the cottage or there is a garage but it is quite a tight fit! Marian, the owner contacted us to check everything was ok part way through our break, she was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend.
