Helen was very helpful and her cottages were lovely , so homely.. The area was in driving distance of any walks we wanted to do. On top of old man Coniston and a little pub in Torver ( The Wilson arms) . We had a lovely meal and they accommodated 18 of us, no problems . I
We would highly recommend the two cottages , added bonus hot tub which everyone enjoyed .
Excellent cottage, well laid out with hot tub and decking area.. Great views towards the lake and the distant hills.
A wonderful time was had by the whole family.. The cottage was excellent.
We couldn't have asked for more. Browside had everything that we needed; the rooms were spacious so our group never felt on top of eachother & the views were amazing.
It is in a great location with the shops only a short walk/drive away & not too far from other places to visit. The hot tub was an absolute bonus overlooking fields with sheep!
I would highly recommend this to anyone as I am absolutely certain you'll have a pleasurable stay as we certainly didn't want to leave!!
Lovely house, comfortable and clean.. Very useful file of information covering all sorts, especially the activities suitable for children.
Nice walks right from the front door.
Loved the hot tub (cleaned daily! )
The house was lovely, spacious and well equipped, could do with a few more t-towels however that is all.. Very pleased to see a recycling system in the kitchen.
This property was a really good base for the meeting of the clan and the children.. Exactly as described in the brochure. It was comfortable and had everything that we needed.
Helen and Allan have created a wonderful holiday home from the original two bedroom bungalow to today's 14 person retreat.. The furnishings and appointments were uniformly of a very high standard and clearly maintenance and best quality appointments were important to the hosts.
We found the location ideal for our family gathering and the views from picture windows were enchanting especially when the local shepherd was working his sheep with three dogs simultaneously. It gave us a wonderful Lake District holiday -and the hot tub played its part, too!
Perfect peaceful location, beautiful property plenty of space and every facility we needed.. Wonderful views, lovely outdoor seating area and hot tub overlooking coniston lake. This property was fantastic for our reunion and would defiantly recommend it to others.
House was perfect - met all of our needs in terms of space, comfort and location.. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and decking area for breakfasts in the sun!
The owner was very friendly and helpful.. Lovely walk for evening meals at the Wilsons Arms nearby at Torver
Fab accommodation for 14. All on the level for our mixed age party 25-86! Home from home kitchen. Only issue was intermittent wi-fi. Out-with owners control!
This is a fantastic house and the owners are lovely, If there was anything we wanted that was not provided we only had to ask.. The house has a lovely warm welcoming feel to it which makes you feel at home straight away. All the rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds are extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well kitted out with everything you need for whatever you want to cook, even cake tins if you feel in the mood for baking. Both the dining room and the lounge have views to die for and the seating in both very comfortable. The hot tub was an added bonus and the decked patio area looked out over Coniston water. There were 10 of us staying + 2 dogs for 2 weeks and at no time did it feel crowded. We all had a fantastic holiday and could have stayed for ever. There is an excellent pub approx 1/2 mile walk down a footpath (ex railwayline) which does excellent food and allows dogs in the bar and also another on the way to Coniston, Probably about a mile away. The Fish and Chip shop in the village is excellent and so is Sara's Indian Restaurant and take away. There are 3 small supermarkets, the co op, a Premier shop and the spar at the garage, also an excellent bakers, so you can shop local if you do not want to spend your time travelling to Kendal for the major supermarkets. We would highly recommend this house and we intend to go back in the not to distant future.
Lovely cottage with beautiful views and friendly helpful owners.. Great walks on the doorstep. Ideal for family get together or friends reunion.
Fantastic house.. Well equipped and very clean Lovely layout with beautiful views. Owners were very helpful and friendly
Everything was lovely. The hot tub was the best feature, especially after a long hike. The location was excellent and the views were amazing.
Such a beautiful house with excellent views, you could not have wished for more. Our large party took advantage of the hot tub which was well maintained and a highlight of the holiday.
There were no complaints from any of us and would definitely recommend to anyone, we look forward to a return visit.
What an absolute gem. The views from the windows were breathtaking and the hot tub was fabulous.
We loved the layout of the property that gave us a perfect balance of sociable family space and the ability to have private quiet time in the well equipped en-suite rooms. The location was great for exploring southern lakes and the views were stunning.
We have just returned from a week at this house. Four generations of the family attended making a party of 11. The house was perfect providing great space for family social time, but also providing privacy and quietness through well equipped en-suite bedrooms for those times when you wanted to have a little time relaxing on your own.
The owners live next door and have achieved the perfect balance of being there if you need them but not intruding on your stay. The views from the windows are stunning and you are perfectly placed to explore the southern lakes.
Had a brilliant stay at Browside. There was loads of space for everyone and every room was very comfy. The views were also stunning, especially from the hot tub! Would definitely stay again.
The house was well equipped for a large family group with good bedrooms and lots of bathrooms. The location was excellent, we were able to walk to the lake in about 20 minutes and get access onto the lake. The views are wonderful and there is direct access to the Old Man of Coniston.
This is probably the best equipped and positioned cottage we have ever stayed in. The beds were lovely and comfortable, the cottage was very well equipped and the setting was perfect. There were lots of lovely walks nearby with Coniston a short walk away. I cannot recommend the cottage highly enough.
