Situated within 17 acres of farmland and the owner’s grounds, Brock Scar Cottage really is the epitome of a traditional cottage in a beautiful location.. Ground Floor:

With electric fire, 36" Freesat TV, DVD player, CD player and beams.
Kitchen/dining room: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail.
First Floor:

Bedroom 2: With twin beds.. Economy 7 heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Large lawned garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: No children under 12 years old. The property has a natural water supply from a spring. . On the ground floor there is a comfortable living room with electric fire and original features, a large kitchen/dining room with views across the fields to the front and a well-presented family bathroom with shower over bath. The stairs lead up to a large double bedroom and a really well-presented twin bedroom, which once again have some of the most beautiful views looking out over the fields, hills and countryside. There is parking for up to two cars, and a super sitting-out area with garden table and chairs to the front of the cottage and to the rear lies the majestic Grassholme Reservoir. The property is accessed by a private road and visitors will be welcomed on arrival by the owner, with a tray of tea and biscuits.
Located just a few yards away from the peaceful tranquillity of Grassholme Reservoir and settled within the hills surrounding the reservoir, with fabulous views from all sides, Brock Scar Cottage is the perfect destination for a peaceful, romantic break at any time of year. Nestled in the grounds of the owner’s home, there is plenty to enjoy for guests that like an active holiday. The area is well-known for having great walks, footpaths and cycle routes that lead directly from the cottage and out across the scenic hillside of Teesdale and further along into the villages of Middleton-in-Teesdale, Mickleton, Romaldskirk, Cotherstone and more. Perfect too for guests who love to fish, a licence can be purchased to fish for wild brown trout and rainbow trout in the reservoir behind the cottage. There is a sport centre and golf course approximately 12 miles away in Barnard Castle, and horse riding is also readily available in the area. The unspoilt nature of the surrounding landscape makes Brock Scar Cottage a great spot for birdwatching and a great destination for nature lovers who will be keen to see the beautiful flora and fauna, including blue gentians, bird’s eye primrose and bluebells in the spring. An ideal base for exploring the North Pennines, County Durham, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the North East, the cottage is situated approximately 2 miles from the village of Mickleton with 2 pubs/restaurants, 4 miles from Middleton-in-Teesdale with shops, pubs and restaurants, 12 miles from Barnard Castle, 16 miles from Stanhope, approximately 1 hour from the city of Durham, and 1½ hours from York, Beamish Museum, the Lake District and Hadrian’s Wall.
