At the foot of Pendle Hill, Downham is in the Forest of Bowland AONB. It is a charming base with a gastropub, a tea room, an ice cream shop and a village green. Nearby is the town of Clitheroe which has a castle and museum, Bowland Brewery and galleries. There are walks that will show the town and area, Clitheroe Golf Club is ideal for any enthusiasts. With breathtaking countryside on your doorstep, this is an outstanding location for your next break.
