Well, just back last evening after a week at Braeside Cottage, I was sorry to leave, the cottage was absolutely lovely, everything one would need was provided.. ...Sue couldn't have been more helpful...even a wee text to make sure we had settled in.... The garden is beautiful, I used to sit and read in the evenings dogs by my feet asleep...it was heaven! If you're going soon, don't touch the composter, I think there's a bees nest in it!! But they will move on hopefully ... The position is ideal for the village, a great butcher just five minutes away, scrumptious Pork sausages...everything lovely. Wendy at the garage also was so very helpful to me....everyone met you with a cheerie 'Hello, ' There is a lovely riverside walk not five minutes away....the dogs loved it.. Your not far from Hawick and Melrose....where the abbey is simply stunning, mind we had super weather but my wellingtons and wet coat were at hand if needed...always pack them especially if going to the borders... Thanks so much Sue.... This is one cottage I'm DEFINATELY returning too... Margaret..Lucy .Mac and Flora... June 2019.

A lovely cosy cottage in a lovely village, friendly people and friendly pups.. The location is wonderful to explore the local area, easy access roads and fantastic scenery. Braeside Cottage is a lovely cottage, clean, cosy log fire, all full amenities. Location is quite and dog friendly, Susan, the owner is friendly and contacted us to welcome our stay. Its what the Doctor ordered if you want reading time, exploring time, Dog walking time, get up when you want time, drinking time and friendly chatting time. Would book again to continue exploring the Low lands of Scotland.

Comfortable cottage, in a friendly village .. Enclosed patio garden outside back door so our dog could go out, and a big garden down a little path where our dog had a fantastic time racing around with her ball .well equipped kitchen and bed was comfortable. Post office /General store only sells the basics but supermarket only a short distence away in Howick .the village has a good butchers that also sells lovely sweet and savoury pies. We had some lovely walks around the village so if your looking for a quiet holiday this is for you but loads of places to vist in the surrounding area you just have to travel .we enjoyed our week in this cottage and would stay here again .

This is a deceptively spacious cottage, well-equipped and within a minute's walk of the village centre.. Very quiet thanks to thick walls, and with a lovely garden a few metres away down a path from the cottage. We would use again if we returned to Denholm

Braeside Cottage was homely, warm and well-equipped.. We especially enjoyed the log-burner as the weather was mainly cold and dull. Garden was lovely too, but again, the poor weather meant that we couldn't use it much. All in all a very comfortable stay in an excellent cottage.

We had a lovely time staying at Braeside Cottage in Denholm and he cottage was as anticipated.. We followed the short and precise instructions for the log stove which were easy and worked a treat. The best log stove we have encountered in holiday cottages of which there have been many. The location is good and the locals very friendly.

Lovely, spotlessly clean fully furnished cottage with all amenities including wi-fi. Outside the back door a path leads down to a beautiful, secluded garden with mature fruit trees where you can relax with a bottle of wine after a day's sightseeing. And there's a lot to see. Amongst others, we took a fabulous winding road through the hills to visit Traquair House, a 1000 year old dwelling steeped in Scottish history. Also took the A68 north to East Saltoun and the Glenkinchie whiskey distillery. Take the tour and find out how the'water of life' is made, and finish off with a free tasting! Denholm is a picturesque village built around a central green, offering all essential amenities to the visitor as well as providing a great jumping-off point for exploring this beautiful, unspoilt landscape.

Stayed here for a week and could have stayed forever! The cottage has everything you could possibly need to enjoy a relaxing stress free time in the beautiful Scottish Borders. Located in the heart of the village a stones throw from the pubs and restaurant, the cottage provided us with a superb base to explore the area. Only 5 minutes from the convenience of supermarkets in Hawick yet far away enough to preserve that intimate friendly essence of village life. The cottage had a very comfortable living room with wood burning stove that was epically warm! Hard wood logs were provided (at reasonable cost) The kitchen was modern and filled with all manner of equipment. The small outside area was secure to let the dog have a moment of fresh air as required but the garden which was tucked down the bank was large and gave our lab a great space to chase his ball! It was also very secure! The bedrooms were comfy and the bathroom spotless. All in all a great stay we will be back!
