Cannot praise this property highly enough. It was beautifully fitted out with everything you could possibly need. The separate annex was great for the grandparents .Handy for the Lakeside and the Lakes

Bobbin Cottage was set in a lovely area, incredibly picturesque and quiet.. Close to Lakeside where you can take a boat up to Bowness and experience stunning views, there are also local walks (the one up to the High Dam was beautiful). The cottage is just fantastic in every way. The setting, the facilities and quality of everything was just 5 star. The owners John and Lisa were so helpful and checked in with us to make sure we had everything. The log burner was amazing and heated the large lounge area really quickly although we had 3 days of largely sunny weather in late September - so lucky! Sitting in the lounge conservatory in the morning watching the birds feed outside was so therapeutic. We absolutely loved everything about Bobbin Cottage and will definitely return.

Absolutely stunning.. This cottage had everything and more. Stayed over the New Year with our daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren. Plenty of space for everyone. The studio is set apart from the main house which was not a problem for us because it meant peace and quiet. The garage games room was a hit for the boys. Parking was great for us and our 3 cars. Would highly recommend these gorgeous property which is set in a beautiful location.

Excellent break away with the family plenty of room for the kids to play with big open plan spaces.. Warning however only 3 pieces of wood was provided for 2 nights stay, called and asked for more but thats is all thats included for a December break! Bring a couple of sacks of wood as the nearest station had ran out so was a chore finding some.

The cottage was well laid out and situated perfectly set back from a minor road and handy for the Windermere lake steamers etc.. and for visiting the south Lakes area in general. The cottage was very well equipped and tastefully furnished to a good standard. The extensive outside facilities were appreciated and the games room would be ideal for children (and adults!). The (pleasantly) unseasonal weather did also help make it a memorable holiday!

Bobbin Mill Cottage is a superbly appointed house: very spacious - plenty of room for 4 couples and lots of different sitting areas to suit every mood.. Separate annexe offers extra privacy option for one couple/family. Kitchen is extremely well equipped with a total of 5 ovens (between Aga, electric and microwave). Lovely lakeland garden area with plenty of outside eating space. Woodland walks directly from the gateway. Bobbin Mill (English Heritage) - with live demonstrations of bobbin turning - is just across the road.

Windows should have access to open for fresh air as some bedrooms felt claustrophobic and surely channels 1 to 5 on TV should be readily available and not need mobile phones to set up.. It was good but felt it was not value for money as we did not have basics like toilet rolls.

This was our second year at Bobbin Mill Cottage.. It is a perfect holiday cottage We visited with our daughter, partner and two boys and our granddaughter and partner The cottage is so comfortable. The beds are really very comfortable! Everything was spotlessly clean. The football and pool tables in the garage are the best and saw many a fiercely competitive match in the evening! We were very lucky with the weather again as it was sunny and warm most of the week. Maybe the only issue was that the main house ran out of hot water in the morning after a few showers, but they did cope ok. I would highly recommend Bobbin Mill Cottage for a lovely holiday.

Absolutely stunning accommodation.. Great location next to Windermere and a perfect base to explore the southern Lakes. Would certainly recommend this place, one of the best properties for this sort of trip we've visited.

We loved Bobbin Mill Cottage.. A real gem. Beautifully done. All rooms are ensuite and everyone has as much privacy as they want but the communal areas are great and spacious. Lovely kitchen and very well equipped. Beautiful garden. It's a shame we had a rain filled trip as we'd have loved to spend time sitting in the garden...Very easily accessible from the M6 & minutes from the Lake edge.

We were really lucky with the weather, it was in the high twenties every day! The cottage was really lovely, very well fitted out, beds were really comfortable, and all the bed linen, towels etc, were really good quality. The patio area was great for breakfast in the morning, and most days had our evening meal there as well. The barbecue has an outing as well. We also made good use of the pool and football tables. All the family loved the cottage, and the area.

Sykes exceeded our expectations but there was a big problem with the shower in the downstairs bedroom en suite and we lost an afternoon while a man came to fix it.. Also we had problems with the TV's everywhere. I phoned the owner who said it might be reception of might be that the previous occupants had not reset it (arguably not helpful). The man that repaired the shower managed to get us a couple of channels but given there is a TV in every bedroom and the lounge we did expect to get something on all of them. This problem with the TV was also in the annexe.

Thank you very much.. We had a fantastic week at Bobbin Mill. It proved to be exactly what we were looking for. There was plenty of room for our party and the setting was fab. The cottage had everything you would expect and more. A great deal of time, effort and thought had been put into the decor of this holiday home. Each bedroom was unique which add to the character of the property. There were plenty of local walks. The Aquarium, train and boat trips near by were also a bonus. I would love to come back in summer to take advantage of the beautiful garden and also to be able to pop to the Mill across the road. Thanks also for the cheeky bottle of wine on our arrival. It was a very nice touch x

The cottage was lovely - lots of space and light.. There were eight of us and there was plenty of room. The kitchen was well equipped with gadgets - espresso machines, ice and water dispensers and an Aga, but lacked some basics like egg cups and a measuring jug! We really enjoyed the pool table and snooker table though it was a bit cold in February to stay in the garage for too long. There was plenty of parking in front and behind the property. We had 6 cars there at one point. We did have some problems with the heating and the fuses blowing but these were sorted out.

Stayed for one week in June to celebrate a birthday with family. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, full of character and is perfect for families or groups wanting to spend time together. There is ample entertaining space, a large fully fitted kitchen (including an Aga & traditional oven), complete with everything you might need, even down to salt, pepper, tea bags, fairy etc. There is a downstairs toilet, a boot room for shoes/storage, a utility room with washing machine, sink and iron/ironing board, clothes horse – everything you could need! On the ground floor is a double en-suite room with walk in shower. Upstairs there is a beautifully decorated spacious twin room, which has a daybed (and another mattress) and an en-suite with a large walk in shower. Also upstairs is a spacious double room and the main bathroom, which is a little small (as is the shower cubicle) - but you are in a cottage after all. Above the double garage in the garden is the fourth bedroom with en-suite and a large living room with TV and kitchen area (think the sofa might also turn into a sofabed but not sure). This is great if you want peace and quiet away from the main house or for older kids. There is plenty of wardrobe spaces and hangers. The cottage is at the end of a terrace, and unlike the other cottages, has ample private parking and room to the side and back for entertaining. It’s a 10 – 15 minute walk to Lakeside Hotel and about a 25 minute walk to the Swan Inn at Newby Bridge and is a great base for exploring the lakes. We were lucky enough to have a full week of sunny weather and often enjoyed breakfast in the garden. A lot of work has gone into maintaining this cottage. Absolutely recommend. Note that there is very limited phone signal in the area...but of course the cottage has wifi, so you're still connected :-)

We celebrated my Dad's 60th Birthday at this beautiful cottage.. ..and what a fab time we all had! Firstly the cottage is lovely! Great layout and felt like home from home! So cute and quaint yet modern! The garden was lovely also - just wish we could have sat out ( weather wasn't fantastic) because there was ample room to chill and sip wine in the garden! Beds were comfy, plenty of parking, great little docking station for our 'party' and the wifi was great bonus too! We were unsure of things to do and was worried we would be too far away from things going on but just a 10 min walk got us to the train station and boat station so we spent one day at Bowness and one day at Haverthwaite station (and one day relaxing in the Lakeside pub - pricey but good) I would defo recommend booking to friends and family - such a great place to stay for time in the Lakes! Thanks

The only minor issue was that the television needs to be retuned in the annexe as we could not access any channels.. Apart from that it is a fantastic cottage.
