Holiday home
Blakey is a wonderful semi-detached barn conversion set on the owners' livestock farm, three miles from the village of Moorsholm in the North York Moors National Park. This barn conversion sleeps two people and has an en-suite shower, basin and WC and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with electric fire. Outside there's ample off road parking, a private patio with furniture and shared use of lawned grounds. Blakey is a great retreat for couples with walks and cycle routes all around.

All ground floor. One king-size double bedroom with en-suite shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Area
The small village of Moorsholm is situated on the northern edge of the North York Moors National Park, between Guisborough and Whitby. The village offers a mix of traditional and modern properties, a church and a pub. Close by are Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Guisborough and Whitby.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

We had a wonderful welcome by Carol who showed us round the cottage and all the facilities.. Also a very appreciative welcome pack. Everything was absolutely spotless, lovely quiet location but still very convenient for Staithes, Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby.

Cottage was perfect for us and the dogs , being able to let the dog straight out into the grass and fields was great and makes the stay more enjoyable.. The views from the cottage are lovely and it was peaceful, great to get away and relax but location was good for getting to all local areas . Owners were lovely and made us feel welcome at all times . Lovely welcome pack included which was great as we didn’t have chance to pick up the basics before arriving. Cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and was very comfortable, we would definitely recommend and will be back soon . Thank you

Lovely cottage.. Very warm welcome. Brilliant for the dog with open field on the doorstep - perfect for morning toilet trips (for the dog!). Nicely isolated and quiet but near to A171 so easy access.

A Quiet location yet within easy reach of Guisborough (9m) and Whitby (12) for supplies.. The natural water supply is drinkable as Carol (owner) said it'd been checked by the local authority, although it's a bit on the hard side. The little gifts were much appreciated - bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. We returned home refreshed.

Lovely, clean and comfortable cottage, with everything required for our stay.. Lots of room for the two of us and our small dog. Plenty of space for her to run in the owners fields adjacent to the property. Very friendly owners who went the extra mile to make us welcome. Bed was super-comfy and the shower was powerful enough (we hate showers that are no more than a dribble)! Very peaceful and quiet and highly recommended. Off the beaten track but not too far!

This cottage was one of three.. Blakey cottage was on the one that permitted you to have your dog with you. It was living , dining kitchen was spacious for 2 people and pet. The bedroom and on suite were very clean and fresh, The owner Carol met us a was very friendly and made sure we had everything we need, Although isolated, you were within 10 mile radius a places to go, especially the coast. We would recommend these properties if you want to just get away and enjoy the peace and quiet. No WiFi but reasonable mobile phone connectivity. We will go again - probably when the weather is a bit better.

As a dog owner its difficult finding good quality accommodation that is dog friendly; the location and the opportunity to use several fenced in fields for dog walking was a great surprise when we arrived.. The accommodation cannot be faulted with everything that you need and in great order. The owners were equally friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property

We received a very warm welcome upon our arrival. The cottage itself was immaculate and the views were amazing. We felt away from it all but still close enough to civilisation for things we needed. We took our dog with us and he loved it, there was so much enclosed land for him to explore just on the doorstep, which took the stress out of our stay. The cottage was homely, warm, clean and had everything we needed. We cannot recommend this cottage enough, we had a very enjoyable stay and we will return in the future.
