Fantastic location, just a short walk from the harbor - Rounstone is stunning! Lots to do in the area - we did an e-bike tour, clay shooting lessons, kayaking and hill walking. Just a couple of small niggles with the cottage: there are no heating controls, and it was often very cold. The owner has it set to come on twice a day (from the attached property), and in the colder months that isn’t enough. Also, we could not use the WiFi - we asked for the code a couple of times, but weren’t given the correct one. Carol, the owner, was warm and friendly. If the above two niggles were sorted, I would score higher.

This is the second time that we have visited this cottage and we intend to go back! It is a superb location and the owners are friendly and helpful - they seem like friends now! The cottage is well decorated and maintained. Lovely view of mountains from front windows and close to shops, pubs etc. Connemara is absolutely beautiful and we found everyone we met very welcoming! Only disappointment was the lack of controls for the DVD player - it would be good for a new controller to be purchased

We could not control the heating in the house and it would of been nice to have table and chairs outside the front of the house to look at the view..

There is everything to recommend for this holiday house.. It is in a quiet location, with lovely views, just 5 minutes walk from Roundstone, so very convenient for the local food and craft shops, with no shortage of places to eat out. In the good weather, Roundstone felt cosmopolitan, one could eat outside, all close to the harbour, with amazing views to the mountains of Connemara, and happy people, many young and on bicycles, touring the beautiful coastline. The sandy beaches of Gurteen Beach and Dog's Bay just a few minutes drive away with white sand and sheltered aspect are heavenly. It is also an ideal place for touring further up and around the coast, where there are more wonderful, magical sandy bays, and back through the mountains. And what a lovely house to come back to. Freshly caught fish, and a home baked apple pie arrived by magic in our kitchen, Carole was kindness itself, living unobtrusively next door. The place was spotless, and well equipped, with much pine furniture, and light rooms. A perfect relaxing holiday, my husband and I are both water colour painters, and the sitting room was light enough and large enough for us both to paint. When I left my walking boots behind, Carole posted them to me straight away with only friendly words to say about my forgetfulness!! The house felt loved and we felt very at home and cared for beautifully. Thank you Carole!! We will do our very best to return.

I have been coming to this area for over 40 years. The scenery is amazing no matter what the weather, the welcome from the community who live here is always warm and inviting and there is so much to see and do 1 week is never enough. The owners of this property are the nicest couple you could meet, and we always feel like one of the family when we visit. We've been twice in the last year, and are about to go again next month, with our annual trip in June now permanently pencilled in their diary. As long as out party size doesn't grow beyond 6 we won't be looking for anywhere else to stay
