Bay View Apartment is a first floor apartment in the town of Oban. This cottage apartment sleeps five people in three bedrooms, consisting of one double, one twin and one single as well as a family bathroom. The cottage also has a fitted kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with dining area and open fire. Outside, there is a small rear courtyard, a balcony with furniture and a free car park 10 minutes walk away. Close to a number of attractions, Bay View Apartment is an ideal holiday home for families and friends.

All first floor. Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x single. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room (seats 4) with dining area, open fire, electric fire and access to balcony.

Area
The town of Oban is situated on the west coast of Scotland. The town has many shops, bars and restaurants. Oban Distillery is well worth a visit as is the Scottish Sealife Sanctuary.

Region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

The apartment was very central so all the local shops were easily accessible.. The views from the sitting room were amazing and it was very relaxing watching the boats whenever we were in.

I can’t recommend this holiday flat enough.. The living and dining room area is very spacious and has a breathtaking view of Oban Bay. We were lucky enough to experience some amazing sunsets and people were lining the promenade in front of the flat to take photos whilst we enjoyed it with a glass of wine and a fish and chip supper from the takeaway just around the corner that is recommended by Rick Stein. The parking is a bit of a pain. We decided to absorb parking fees into our holiday budgeting. Basically you need to pay to park between 9 am and 6 pm, but you can have 30 minutes free and then only 2 hours in the same place. We were always out and about so we were fine with it. The pluses with this holiday accommodation are so many that the parking feels insignificant. There’s a lovely seating place behind the flat protected from the wind that catches the sun, we took a paddle board and used it in the bay and stored it just outside the back door, the nearest beach is 2 kilometres away and you can walk or jog there, locals are very friendly, the bath is full length, the kitchen is very well equipped.... I hope you all enjoy staying there as much as we did. Many thanks to the owner

The cottage was as described.. Very comfortable, excellent location, with a brilliant view. Parking was an issue as there is no parking provided with the apartment and it was hard to find anywhere free to park during the day.

This was my second stay that I had worked towards and dreamed of for 13 years and I was not disappointed.. I was delighted to find that the owner had not fallen victim to 'modernisation mania'. Finding a charming traditional accommodation is now akin to finding the proverbial Needle in a Haystack. The furnishings are comfortable and perfectly in keeping with the original style of the flat. The views and proximity to the harbour are unsurpassed as are the lovely personal touches.

The time it took Sykes to reply to my complaints and pass on the information to the owner was unacceptable.. A written apology would have been nice. At first Sykes didn't seem to take my feedback seriously and sent a standard email reply. The follow up customer service is appaling

Very clean and comfortable apartment.. Very spacious inside. Views over Oban bay to Karrera ever changing from balcony and large windows are amazing. Does not state having wi-fi in the description but it does which was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely book this apartment again.

This apartment has beautiful views across Oban Bay to the Isle of Kerrera.. It is central to all shops and restaurants and now has Wi-Fi too. Although the weather was very cold, there was ample heating in the flat. Highly recommended.

This has got to be the no 1 self catering in Oban . The view from the massive lounge window is a panoramic from the north pier sweeping right round to Lismore with a grand view of the hills on Mull , a door from the lounge accesses a small balcony where stunning sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed. Adequate parking is available , metered or free and a less than 1 minute walk takes you onto the main street . A fantastic center to explore Argyll and the isles , a day trip to Mull is always on our schedule with a nice cosy flat to return to at end of day, The proprietor Mrs Joan Mcdougal is always so helpful and ready to resolve any issues This was our sixth visit and already booked June 2018

Oban is a great place to stay with lots of good eating places, lots to do in the town, and in the surrounding area, in all weathers. The apartment is in the ideal location. The apartment is very charming, and the views from the sitting room are stunning. The owner is thoughtful and has been very helpful, and we cannot wait for our next stay.

Just returned from a week at this lovely apartment, which was like a home from home, especially as we had mixed weather and were in it more than if it had been sunshine. It is very spacious and well-furnished with everything you would need. Yes, some things like the suite need attention- a throw would help that- and yes, you have to pay for electricity but, even with nightly baths, we still paid less than anticipated; and yes, there is carpet in the bathroom, but everything is spotless and clean. But the wonderful view and sunsets from the lounge and the very convenient location, only a few minutes walk from the town and restaurants and ferry- and across the road from the Chocolate Shop!- make this a great place to stay, and we would have no hesitation in staying here again if visting Oban.

Have gone to this property for the last 3 years and loved the view and the location but the property is dated - the bathroom has a carpet which will be full of germs, so i always take about 4 bath mats to cover it then throw out when we leave -it has an Ala baba basket beside the toilet which must be covered in urine so we move it when we arrive, the grouting is black. The double bedroom has blankets so always take our duvet with us, the drawers have paper lining with drawing pins. The living room is spacious but has a dated dangerous fire and a carpet like a jigsaw with a frayed suite. The balcony is great but unsafe as the railings are broken and rusted which has been like that for the last 3 years We have reported this but the owner does not want to spend any money on it since the view is amazing enough to not bother about the standards of safety and hygiene. This property is great if Oban is warm but if it is cold there is a coin meter which is set high so could cost you a lot if staying for a week. - we were hoping that the place would be updated or at least cleaner and safer since it is the main disappointment, but after 3 years it's safe to say 3 times is not a charm.

The setting and location is super and the property is charming and comfortable. We have stayed here many times and are always happy to return. The surrounding area is one of the most spectacular in the country and we are always finding new places to explore.
