Pro. Good location for three peaks and good local walks Friendly Home made jam & free range eggs Cons.. Only 1 car spot , but enough space for two easy. Strangely so as not offend neighbour No dish washer Smelled a little of wet dog but pets are allowed. Quite small tv , so if it’s wet kids would struggle. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Barn Cottage is set in the lovely little hamlet of Ireby just outside Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales.. The three bedroom cottage is a home from home with nearby walking including one to the highest point in Lancashire from where you can see Morecambe Bay. Just 3 miles away is the Ingleton Waterfall Trail which features no less than 7 falls on a 4½ mile walk. You need to be pretty fit but I made it up to Thornton Force, the highest of the falls, at 70 y.o. and with a dodgy hip. Within easy driving distance are many of the iconic places in the Dales. The Ribblehead Viaduct is only a 20 minute drive, follow that road to Hawes and visit the cheese experience at Wensleydale Creamery (highly recommended) and then on to the spectacular falls at Aysgarth where the fight scene with Little John & Robin Hood was filmed for Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. These are only a few suggestions as the Dales are stunningly beautiful with amazing sights everywhere you go.

Fantastic cottage, extremely well placed to discover The Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District! The small hamlet in which The Barn Cottage is located is quiet, with a friendly neighbourhood in the middle of nature, with footpaths everywhere at the cottage's door. The cottage itself is perfect and met all our expectations, and the owner's more-than-useful informations sent via a very sympathetic email put us at ease even before arriving. Ute and Stuart's welcome was more than friendly, and Ute's plum jam was just delicious! The Barn Cottage is a real "value for money" letting, and we look forward to coming back there!

Easily accessed off the A65 and only a few miles from Kirkby Lonsdale and Ingleton. Wonderful walking right from the door up on to the fells. Cottage was warm and well equipped (if you self cater like we do - and had the best potato masher I've come across in any cottage - a pet hate of mine is poor mashers). It is very dog friendly. There is a washing machine and tumble drier in the garage, which you can also use for bike storage. You get a warm welcome on arrival...and some jam (nice touch)

Lovely cottage that far exceeded our expectations, the welcoming touches of dog treats and jam on arrival with plenty of information of the area was greatly appreciated and very useful to plan our stay.. . A comfortable place that provided everything, and more than we needed to feel at home, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cottage xx

We had a lovely stay at Barn Cottage.. Ute left us some home made jam on arrival and even some biscuits for our dog as a welcome gift. Ute was great at communication and the cottage was packed with information on local walks and amenities. Barn Cottage is small but perfect four our needs. The bunk beds were ideal for our boys and the kitchen was well equipped. It is ideally located for a walking holiday and we had a great stay.

The cottage is in a good location with easy access to the hills and close enough to the main road to make it a good base to explore the Pennines.. The house is very comfortable with a friendly helpful owner and their friendly helpful dog. I would happily re-book if I visited the area again.

Excelent location in small but interesting hamlet - excelent walks from the cottage particularly to highest and most northerly point in Lancashire which is a pleasant walk from the cottage.. We were extremely lucky with the weather so did not need to use some of the facilities - e.g. log burning stove. We were a party of five adults so the third bedroom with bunkbeds was a little small but this would not put us off returning. The bedrooms could be improved by having more bedside tables. The area has so much to offer and we were able to travel easily to the Yorkshire Dales, both Southern (Ambleside, Windermere) and Northern (Keswick) parts of the Lake District.

We stayed at this cottage for New Year and had a fantastic stay. The cottage was well equipped so we could cook our own meals to eat in and the location was beautiful. The log burner was a welcomed extra especially after our walks to warm us through and the owner was very helpful in accommodating our booking at short notice Excellent stay and highly recommended
