Bannister Cottage in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire

Lovely cottage in small village.. No parking immediately outside cottage, however parking available across the road or small car park further up the street. Cottage is equipped with everything you require and more. Clean, warm and great for a cheeky week away.

Went to use the grill and it was full of grease there was a lot of traffic noise right through the night keeping us awake.. The outside was always in the shade and we felt exposed sitting on the front. On the bright side it was handy for the bus into different places and the hand sanitiser on the outside wall was a nice touch as was the welcome wine and Jaffa cakes.

A great little cottage.. It is in a wonderful place for relaxing and walking with lots of interesting small towns and villages to explore. The Tapas bar is well worth a visit. Skelton is on the Cleveland Way and starts the coastal stretch to Filey.

This is a lovely cottage, in a nice area with very warm and friendly locals.. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was clean and the bed linen lovely and white. A nice jesture was the gift of a bottle of wine and biscuits on our arrival. However, the cottage is a little tired in places and the kerb appeal could do with some TLC. The owner was easy to deal with via text and allowed us to have the cottage earlier than the 3pm entry time.

This was splendidly well-equipped cottage to explore the village of Skelton and the North Yorkshire Coast.. The cottage was extremely comfortable (the bed was divine!) with thoughtful welcome gifts and a helpful owner. There was a well-thought-out binder of information about the cottage and area, which we really appreciated. Everything was spotlessly clean, well-organized and a delight to stay in. We would love to come back for two weeks, next time!

The cottage was just right for us and our dog location was good for visiting area and cottage was very well equipped and nice and warm.. It was possible to walk into Saltburn-By-The-Sea which was a lovely seaside town with good coffee shops. Will be visiting again.

For us it was perfect location, we came to see and visit family that all lived within a 3 mile radius, a perfect family get together.. a real gem but also perfect as a general holidaty location having very easy acsess to get around and about, its a perfect location for local saltburn with its fantastic beach and pair . we went swimming at Redcar pleasure centre 20 min drive away. Tramoline and a fun factory for the kids, behind the skelton Asda superstore there was a big Morrison's in Redcar so plenty of choice where to shop and if you forgot something there is a well stocked high st coop just down the road open till late most nights. In fact we parked the car on the grounds next to. The cottage is a home from home lived in feel very well thought out cottage , you come into the small sitting room with a tv. Though to the dinning area with a kitchen that as everything included dishwasher atactched utilaty room with a washer and a dryer. Outside a small back yard. upstairs there a good size main front bedroom and even though being on the high st, we was not disturbed by the very light morring trafic we sleep like baby's in the very warm and cosy bed, the back bed was a very peaceful two single bed room . Up from there into the Wi-Fi friendly ( god forbid )loft room retreat that the kids loved they was old enough and respectfully enough to be left to there own devices there. A real plus from the roof windows you had a lovelly veiw over the sea and coastline so to conclude it was a 10+ out of 10 holiday for us.

The cottage was lovely, great location, lots of lovely places to visit that are not to far away.. The people in the local area are very friends and everyone loves dogs which is great because we had one with us x

Very good ! Overly place ,lots of places to see and things to do ,buses train,,very good view were ever you go lovely location.

Bannister Cottage is a lovely comfortable cottage in a great location.. We immediately felt at home here. It’s well equipped with everything you could possibly need. There’s a local co-op just up the road which was convenient plus there’s a cafe, butchers, pizza place etc all on the door step. There’s also a pub ‘The Royal George’ which is a 5 minute walk from the cottage which does a lovely Sunday roast. Bannister Cottage was a great base for us to visit Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Whitby & Flamingo Land in Malton. All fantastic places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return sometime in the future.

Bannister cottage is very cosy and well equipped.. The owners sorted out the only problem within minutes of my text to them . The wine ,chocolate ,Christmas card and decorated Christmas tree were a lovely touch.

The owners were very welcoming contacting us personally before the holiday and also welcoming us to the area and giving us some really useful tips.. Absolutely fantastic and the cottage was of a very high standard and perfect for a couple with a dog.

Stone built cottage,WiFI excellent Pet Friendly,Everything is included in this cottage to make it home from home.Very friendly helpful owner nearby if needed.Neibours very friendly and happy to help especially Ken across the Street who is a mine of imformation about the area.Very happy to stay here again.

A lovely, clean & well-equipt property.. The owner was friendly & accommodating. We had a fantastic break.

Bannister Cottage is beautifully presented - fine quality furnishings and fittings throughout. It is very roomy and the second floor space is a super playing/reading area. The owners supplied a delightful welcome tray and offered their help with anything required. In the event, everything was excellent. This was a late booking in order to see an area with which we are unfamiliar. Bannister Cottage provided an ideal base from which to explore Saltburn and Guisborough via the Cleveland Way right from the front door. Further afield, we discovered the NRM Locomotion at Shildon, Ormesby Hall and Beamish Museum. The village has a range of nearby eateries - The Royal George being particularly good. The supermarket is well stocked and the butcher sells a variety of very high class meats. Although there is no parking immediately outside the cottage, this never proved a problem. According to the information in the cottage, loading and unloading is permissible. A very pleasant experience in an attractive and interesting location.

Bannister Cottage is a lovely little cottage with everything that one could possibly need on a vacation.. Skelton is a great village with well stocked shops.

We booked as a last minute get away for New year and looked at the place and location and thought it would be fab for us, our little girl and the dog! Looking at the pictures we didn't think we would be able to take our pooch as it looked too nice, I had to double check! But you can and it is so nice being able to be somewhere nice, clean and of a high standard with a dog! It's also nice walking in and not realising dogs are allowed here! (Fresh,clean). The cottage itself is lovely, cosy and very well equipped! We walked in to a Christmas tree :) which our little girl loved!- thank you. Yes it is on a main road, and the windows are single glazed at the front as the owners have kept the original features which I think is a good thing but is a little noisy. I struggle to sleep so always have earplugs with me but my little girl and husband slept fine and the back of the house is super quiet! The dog stayed in the kitchen and didn't mutter once, and she can be quite protective if she hears anything! The high street has everything you could need and there are a couple of pubs nearby! Overall a great weekend away! Would highly recommended and would return!

Bannister Cottage was a very comfortable cottage for our recent trip to Yorkshire, although our reasons on this occasion were sad, Bannister Cottage gave us the perfect base..

Unfortunately although the cottage is very well presented it's location on a very busy road and the fact that the windows at the front of the house are not double glazed meant the traffic noise made sleeping in the master bedroom very uncomfortabe. The road was busy until well after 11pm and morning traffic starts around 6am. There are double yellow lines outide the property so parking is either outside someone elses house across the road or in the nearby car park. I was not comfortable with either option. After a long day walking or sightseeing I was also disappointed that there is no bath.

Clean and comfortable terraced cottage.. Kitchen well equipted. Bed linen and towels excellent quality. Due to location and having to meet planning regs only single glazed windows at front so quite noisy due to traffic. No full length mirrors. Difficult to use plugs in bedrooms due to location of furniture. Only minor points which are easily rectified.

Very well equiped and nice cottage.. Beautiful countryside and beach.

Bannister Cottage is a little gem. It is an ideal base to visit Saltburn and the surrounding areas such as Whitby and the moors. It has every thing you need for a comfortable stay. The snug area at the top of the house is a welcome retreat from the rest of the house.
