Sadly this cottage had things missing which we normally expect in a self catering cottage/apartment, firstly and most important is that there was no MICRO WAVE or a tea pot in the kitchen, next the lack of no coat hooks near the front door or anywhere, and an indoor front mat for wiping feet would have been nice and finally no toilet roll holder, a free standing one would have been nice to have instead of having the roll on your lap..

Perfect location, walking distance to everthing! Lake, shops, buses, Theatre & cinema, walks all from front door. The Tourist Information Office in Moot Hall know all there is to know about their local area and spend time with you to ensure you get the most out of every day. The cottage is warm and cosy to return home to every evening.

We weren’t unhappy, however there are several things we felt would be an improvement, for instance, a shelf or cabinet in the bathroom would be beneficial, hooks on the bathroom and bedroom doors would be useful.. Giving the time of year it would have been nice to have the underfloor heating at our disposal, also the downstairs radiator was in affective, it was one of the coldest and wettest weekends of the year, these facilities are a necessity in the British Climate at Winter time. We also discovered they were ants in the living room/kitchen area, and on investigation they were coming in through gaps between the skirting and the flooring. The front and rear of the cottage certainly left a lot to be desired, household electrical goods to name but a few left lying there, if it had been a good weekend, you certainly wouldn’t want to spend any time out there.

A cosy, well-equipped and very centrally located cottage.. Would happily visit again.

Lovely cosy cottage in a great location, very close to town centre and a good base to walk from.. Only negatives are parking is very difficult due to the narrow alley and we were slightly disappointed that there wasn't a DVD player. However, the cottage was lovely and we particularly liked the log fire and jacuzzi bath.

A cosy, comfortable cottage in centre of Keswick, close to amenities & a convenient base for exploring the beautiful Lake District.. The property description about parking outside the cottage is disappointing & misleading because (i) the alley way to Banks Place restricts vehicular access to smaller cars only (ii) the allocated parking space was blocked by a car with a flat tyre during our stay.

Great location, within easy access to the town, plenty of options for eating.. Access to car park very tight.

The cottage is very comfortable - the only thing missing is a microwave - this is not a problem for us but could be for some people.. As you know, the parking is tight so customers do need to be aware of this but, at least, there is the option of parking!! We have been to this cottage 3/4 times and love it, especially its position - within walking distance of everything in town.

It was Spectacular! A lovely little cottage in the heart of Keswick, local pubs, bars, restaurants, shops- was perfect! Spent every day out walking, exploring and enjoy the Lakes! Breathtaking views, good value for money! Felt like a home from home and we are already planning our trip to the Lakes!

When I booked the cottage I looked for one that had parking.. The information online said it had parking outside the cottage. On arrival the car could barely squeeze down the alley to the cottages. Inside the cottage in the information folder it says do not attempt it if you have anything larger than a small car, too late, once in you can barely get out again because of the tight bend! Also in the folder was a scrappy photo of the parking with an arrow pointing to a space that says "can park here if it's available, first come first served". There are about 8 or 9 cottages, and parking spaces for 3 cars, two of which are private. There was a car already in the space that did not move whilst we were there. The nearest parking, if you can find a space, is several roads away, as the nearest car park is a short stay only. The cottage is in a great location but we would not stay here again as we like to park the car and not use it again once we are in Keswick, and we like to be able keep our eye on it. The booking information is misleading and should be changed.

I have stayed at this cottage now on numerous occasions and will keep coming back. It is perfect, has private parking and is decorated beautifully throughout. Although I was nervous at first about driving down the tight alleyway there are plenty of safe streets nearby to park in. Also found it handy that we didn't actually need access to our car during our stays, there are plenty of buses to nearby places for exploring. I really could not recommend this lovely little cottage highly enough!

Cosy well kept little cottage in the heart of Keswick. The owners have included lots of nice touches to create a homely feel. The cottage is well equipped, but could do with a fan for those warmer nights. As already mentioned, access down the track in between shops is VERY narrow. We managed to get a Fiesta through, but anything wider would be a challenge. Only downside is the noise outside the cottage. The front door opens on to a yard that's used by the local pub and a restaurant. Staff can be quite noisy late at night, and the noise of crates full of glass bottles can be a pain. HOWEVER, a decent pair of earplugs blocks out most of the noise. Well furnished, well equipped home from home overall. Will definately visit again.

Banks Place is a lovely little cottage. It doesn't look much from the outside tucked down a virtually inaccessible lane (beware if your car is wider than a small hatch) behind two restaurants, but inside it's fantastic. On the two restaurants, the council needs to clamp down on what they leave lying about. In the cottage it's comfortable and a home from home. The owners even leave you with tea and coffee and toilet rolls, so you don't have to rush out to buy some essentials. It's a well decorated and maintained cottage and it is also very clean. It is well positioned for the centre of Keswick and close to the Launch, so you can get around Derwent Water to many of the best peaks. Also, there's a great bus service close by too, should you decide not to tackle that access again. Seriously, if you drive, consider backing into the lane as far as the steakhouse, drop your bags off and then park in one of the 24hr car parks.

We stayed here first in March 2015 and just fell in love with the cottage. So when we returned in June 2015 to Keswick after completing Hadrian's Wall, there was only one place for us to stay.Ideally located for the centre of Keswick the owners have thought of everything. The cottage has the most impressive bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath, great after a long day on the fells. The kitchen is well fitted to, providing everything you need for a nice home cooked meal in front of the log burning fire. All in all, this is a fabulous little cottage, ideally located, we love it so much we are returning again in October 2015.

Excellent location in the middle of Keswick, great for a couple looking to have a relaxing getaway in the Lakes. Derwent water is very beautiful and there are some good easy walks around with amazing views. The Double bed was actually two singles pushed together which was a little annoying but I can see why the owners would want to do it. We had a great time and really enjoyed staying at Banks Place.

I have stayed at 3 banks place twice now and each time have not wished to leave. The location for both walking/eating out and having access to one of the most beautiful parts of the lake district is fantastic. Coming back from a long walk or day out to enjoy the Jacuzzi bath and log fire is about as good as it gets. So much to do as it is in the heart of Keswick. Everything you could need is here and is of excellent quality. Maps of the area and information on places to visit was readily available . I would highly recommend 3 banks place and will be visiting again.

Wow!! This is a fabulous little house right in the heart of my favourite place in the world. I simply cannot fault it at all. The precious comments made about local noise are ridiculous because what do you expect when booking somewhere so central, however this was never a problem for us as it was never noisy later in the evening. We would most definitely book to stay here again. One word of advise is to not take a wide car as the entrance to the parking area is very narrow x

Just come back from a week at banks place! Brilliant place for exploring Keswick and surrounding areas! Cottage has everything you need for a comfy stay. The only down side is the noisy pub on the corner and the staff that are out there smoking and shouting! Also the alley way to the cottage was full of cigarette butts which is not nice to walk through especially as a non smoker! I found that this for me let it down. But I did have a lovely holiday

Just returned from a very relaxing 3 night break at Banks Place. This was a Christmas gift from my parents. The cottage was warm and cosy and we especially loved the Jacuzzi bath - just what we needed after a 6 mile walk! The log burning stove was also great as it heated the whole house. It was spotlessly clean throughout and also had a very useful understair storage with radiator where we could dry our walking clothes. Overall a fantastic little cottage in a great spot, in the town centre but very peaceful. Will definately return and would recommend.

Had a great short break in November in Banks Place. Cottage is cosy with fab woodburner, amazing jacuzzi bath and central to everything you need in Keswick. The cottage is very near for amazing mountain walks - I enjoyed a great walk up Skiddaw with blue skies and a light covering of snow which I will remember for a long time. I definitely plan to return to this cottage in the future.

We were looking for somewhere pretty central, as we don't have a car. Banks Place was ideal; close to the lake and with plenty of pubs and coffee shops on the doorstep. The cottage was spotlessly clean with a lovely wood-burning stove and underfloor heating. Very neat cooking island with all necessary utensils and a really spectacular bathroom! Would thoroughly recommend the cottage to anyone wanting peace, quiet and a comfortable base to explore the area.

The cottage was beautiful really warm and cosy with the woodburner on. Never normally have baths but loved the jet bath. All in all had a great weekend away, Keswick has some great pubs and eateries. The company were very helpful as well as we turned up 5 hours before the check in time to miss the snow and they were more than happy to help us out and got us in early! Only (slight) downside to the cottage is access in a car! The alley is extremely narrow I got my car down there but had both wing mirrors touching the sides!! Not for the faint hearted!!

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage in the heart of Keswick over Christmas. We were greeted by tasteful Christmas lights, a wreath at the door and bucks fizz and mince pies to enjoy, which was a lovely touch. The cottage was immaculately clean and beautifully cosy. The cottage is only a few minutes walk from the lake so we enjoyed scenic walks, as well as numerous trips to pubs and restaurants that were on the doorstep. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage for a romantic getaway - just lovely!

My husband and I had a fantastic 4 night stay at Banks Place in September. The cottage is welcoming, clean and cosy with a lovely wood burning stove and luxury bathroom. The jacuzzi bath was a relaxing treat. The kitchen could do with a few more utensils but on the whole is good. The cottages location was perfect for us being rather partial to a pub with a bit of history, lovely coffee shops and of course walks on the doorstep. The very narrow driveway was interesting to negotiate however. We would definitely visit Keswick again and stay at banks place.

We spent four nights at 3 Banks Place and found it to be in an ideal position for walking to all the attractions and shops of Keswick. It was very well furnished, had all the necessary's for cooking and eating and was very comfortable. It was ideal for two and the soft spa bath was a special treat. The little laneway that lead to parking in front of the house could be a challenge for some drivers but we found it just manageable even with an estate car. It was great to find somewhere self-contained for a mid week break too. It suited us perfectly! Highly recommended.

stayed recently at this small but well appointed house in the centre of keswick. Loved the location in the centre of the town close to all pubs and restaurants. House itself was presented in a very clean and tidy state , loved the bathroom and jacuzzi bath. Log burner looked nice although no need to experience it as we came during a warm if not dry spell. Only issue, tight drive down to park in front of the house (we were informed of this before arrival) , but there is plenty of other parking nearby. Would I come back ? Yes if it stays at that standard.

We recently stayed in this property. We chose it because of its proximity to the town centre. We were not disappointed - its right in the middle of Keswick but still manages to be lovely and peaceful! The property had everything we needed and was very well-presented - obviously very new to the rental market. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage, or Keswick, as an ideal place for a break. One point to note: parking can be a bit tricky but you can always find a space on a nearby street..

I booked this cottage as a romantic getaway for me and my wife. It looked very well presented on the Lakes Cottage Holidays website and looked like an ideal cottage for us. As I run my own business it is essential that a wifi connection is available so I am able to catch up on urgent emails and deal with emergencies should they occur. One of the main reasons I chose this cottage was the fact it was advertised as having a wifi connection. I even contacted the Lakes Cottage Holidays helpline to confirm it definitely had wifi and they assured me it did. It is even advertised on Trip Advisor has having wifi. However, upon our arrival, I was unable to find a wifi connection for the cottage. I then called in at the Lakes Cottage Holidays branch where we had collected the keys to explain that I couldn't find a wifi connection. Then then told me on the spot that it doesn't actually have one!! I then explained that I had searched on their website specifically for a cottage that has a wifi connection and that this cottage was advertised as having one. They then did the same search on there own computer but couldn't find it listed as having wifi. They offered no apology and seemed completely uninterested in the whole matter. On top of all this when we arrived at the cottage we found the cleanliness to be well below par. The slate floors downstairs had not been swept or mopped at all and the bathroom was an absolute disgrace! The bath looked like it had simply been rinsed out with the shower head. We had to spend around an hour cleaning it, bringing it back to the level of cleanliness you would expect on arrival. We were also surprised to find there was no iron or ironing board, very few sharp knives and not enough towels. On the plus side however, it is very conveniently situated in the centre of Keswick making it a quick two minute stroll onto the high street. All in all we were very disappointed with this cottage, extremely unhappy with the level of customer service we received from the Lakes Cottage Holidays staff and will not be staying here again.
