This barn was perfect for us. We were able to take our dog and enjoyed walking her in the beautiful surrounding countryside. We walked and cycled along the Rochdale canal enjoying lunch in Hebden Bridge. On the only day that was wet we loved staying in the barn, it's very comfortable and warm. We had a lovely week and will definitely come back!

We ( 2 adults and children aged 9 and 10) all enjoyed the location of this lovely farm house.. The layout is cleverly done and the children loved the freedom of wandering outside playing on the swings and looking after the chickens! The owners were on site and so friendly when we saw them but their information book told you all you needed to know about the accommodation and the area. The views are wonderful and the location is an ideal base for exploring both Yorkshire and Lancashire. It was a super relaxing break. Would love to return.

The accomodation was well appointed and had everything we needed.. The hosts left a bottle of wine and free range eggs which was a really nice touch. The sofa bed and zed bed were not very comfortable.

We chose Ash Tree Barn primarily due to it's location to Halifax centre.. However, the description and photos really made up our minds and we were not disappointed. On arrival we found Ash Tree Farm eggs and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift, what a lovely thought. Everything was as described and more. The lounge was cosy and comfortable as was the bed. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs, especially the assortment of cleaning products which really impressed us. There is nothing we would criticise at all, the owners have done a great job and we will definitely be returning for another visit.

Really enjoyed my stay at Ash Tree Barn.. The accommodation is wonderfully cosy and relaxing. Welcoming host, walks from the front door and a cozy pub just round the corner....what more could you ask for. I will be visiting again!!

Our family of four, plus Bruce the dog, enjoyed a couple of nights here.. A two minute walk to the local pub, which I would recommend based in the portion sizes alone! The weather wasn't great, but the facilities allowed our 8 and 4 year old to be entertained regardless of the weather. Really lovely place, and the owner was very friendly. The fresh eggs were beautiful and the bottle of wine a really nice touch.

The location of this loft apartment was perfect.. The apartment is roomy and well presented. It was clean and well prepared and the hosts were great, making it clear they are there to help while giving us space and privacy. This had all the facilities for a great break self catering and enjoying the West Yorkshire outdoors. I would recommend this apartment, and will stay here again next time I am in the area.

Absolutely loved Ash Tree Barn.. Bottle of wine and the eggs (which were amazing ) from the owners was nice. The studio plan of the apartment really suited us even though we had 2 adults 2 children and a dog. The place was spotless and so cosy. Good facilities in the kitchen and nice bathroom and shower

Ash tree is a wonderful place to stay , the location , setting and scenery made it very special.. The open plan living and sleeping area gave spectacular views over the green fields and the big windows let in plenty of light.. We had a dog with us and there was plenty of local walks near by, some a bit tough on the legs but really enjoyable. It had all the facilities you needed for our two week stay and was very peaceful. The owner's where always willing to help with anything you needed, but left you alone just to get on with your holiday , which was great.. There was a pub 2 minutes walk away, called the Crossroads - We had some good meals in there, the pies and fish & chips where simply gorgeous. If you wanted a more varied range , go into Sowerby Bridge and you will find loads of pubs and eateries. We found a new Indian restraunt called Rajpoot and the food was gorgeous. Overall your holiday is what you make it and Ash Tree Barn is a fantastic base with everything you need for a great holiday.

The owners of the cottage were really friendly & welcoming & the farm eggs & bottle of wine were a lovely gesture.. However, the accommodation just wasn't for us. It was very basic and minimalist & generally failed to provide the wow factor. We found the bed to be very uncomfortable & found the open plan set up less than homely. It really just wasn't our kind of place. I do feel however that it's a lovely cosy place for a couple just not suitable to share with children (lack of privacy). maybe some privacy screens would help. It was a shame we didn't enjoy our stay but it wasn't the fault of the owners it was just personal taste.

Kitchen needed to be cleaned before we could unload our things.. Bathroom/toilet area hygiene was very poor especially around basin and toilet area. Happy with the facilities, area and welcoming owners.

Would certainly recommend the property, it was ideal for us.. Scenery is spectacular. The barn is advertised as a sleeps four accommodation. There were only two of us which was perfect. There was a double sofa bed for two extra people and as it has an open plan living/sleeping room privacy could be an issue.

Ash Tree Barn reviews Reviews 4.. 5 Very good 2 reviews on Google Most relevant Newest Highest rating Lowest rating Shoane Nidd Shoane Nidd-EDIT4/5 a day ago on Google A lovely apartment in a great location. We are a family of 4 with a dog in tow. The beds were comfortable and clean with a sizeable sofa bed. The hosts were very friendly and kind, even leaving us a New Years Eve bottle of bubbly. The local pub (The New Inn) was wonderful and we enjoyed a couple of really tasty meals there. The staff were so friendly and the service is fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Ash Tree Barn to anyone who loves the great out doors! So many beautiful walks and outdoor activities.

Ash Tree Barn was so comfortable and warm. The cottage was very well equipped with everything one needed for an Autumn stay. The owners were very welcoming when we arrived. I would wholeheartedly recommend this cottage to anyone who wanted to stay here - it is a cottage to suit anyone at any time of the year. If we were wanting a holiday in the North of England again we would certainly want to stay here.

We were so thrilled with Wainstalls (Sykes Cottage).. The owners greeted us on arrival and showed us round and then we settled in to enjoy our stay there. The House was wonderful - very modern and so comfortable with FANTASTIC views over the countryside. We cannot fault anything about our stay there and would certainly recommend it and would certainly book it again if we were coming to the North. THANK YOU.

Maybe I didn't read it properly but thought it was a one bed with sleeping facilities in the lounge but it was all open plan effectively a studio with separate kitchen.. Turned out ok as Grandson was only with us for two nights. Other than that it was a lovely place to stay and owners on site were very nice, especially Herbie the cat. Last night we walked to The Crossroads and had a superb meal must say book if you can as very busy. Visit Halifax and Hebden Bridge.

The Ash Tree Barn was a brilliant place to spend a week.. Had a great time and Jill and Mike were very nice they showed us around when we arrived. The place was actually better than the pictures online. If you want a nice quiet place to use as a base for visiting Yorkshire or Lancashire this is it.

This accomodation is clean and comfortable however there are some aspects that future hirers should be aware of.. Firstly the pictures in the listing, whilst accurate give the impression that the entrance is beneath the large windows wheras this is the opposite side and we initially were unsure we had found the right house. The drive to the property is full of deep potholes and could cause some damage to vehicles with low ground clearance, our 4x4 was perfect. There is little space in the property to hang clothes and no drawers to put personal things beyond a bedside cabinet. The most disappointing feature was the large window at the end of the property which in the photos looks out over the hills and the countryside, what is not clear is that there is a pavement and a busy road between the propery and the view so lying in bed with the curtains isn't really an option. So a nice propery but with disappointing aspects. ************************************************************* OWNER RESPONSE**************************** We are very sorry you were disappointed in some aspects of our property. We very rarely receive any negative feedback, as you will see from our other reviews. It is made clear in the description that we are a farm, and therefore the track leading to the house reflects this. You are the first to comment on storage space, and in response we have added more coat hangers to the hanging spaces. Our road leads into our small village and therefore the only traffic is local. Perhaps because it was bailing time, you are commenting on the tractors which are obviously crucial to our rural community. We are nevertheless pleased, despite your disappointments, you saw fit to still grade us as 'met expectations'. ***

This lovely converted barn totally lived up to expectations.. Situated central for all interesting and beautiful places to visit we always had somewhere new to explore. Great base for a walking holiday whether you prefer a real long trek or like us picturesque gentle walks incorporating a pub lunch as reward. We have stayed in many cottages all over the country but this came out the best. The contemporary design, enclosed garden (perfect for our dog) and friendly hosts made for an unforgetable stay. We will definately return hopefully soon.

The location was beautiful, ideal for walking and site seeing in the local area. The property was comfortable and cosy with everything we could have needed. The large TV with Netflix was great to curl up in front of in the evenings. User guides for all appliances were available in the information pack. Local information about places to eat and local area was very useful as we had never been to the area before. The recommendation of the local Indian restaurant was well appreciated, beautiful food.

The cottage was the best by far of any we have stayed in. The accommodation, we couldn't fault and the view from the upstairs room was fantastic. We could sit there and look out over the hills for hours. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and made it feel like home. Their information folder was great, especially about the surrounding area and the local pubs, of which we visited all 3. For what we wanted to do it was fairly central and the walks around the surrounding valley we would definitely recommend, the views are spectacular.

Ash Tree Barn was like home from home. It was perfect, even down to the lovely smelling fabric softener. The views were great, and it was far enough away from town life for peace quiet, but close enough to be able to grab amenities. All facilities were superbly clean brand new, it was pure luxury. It was warm, comfortable I cannot recommend the farm enough. We didn't want to leave.
