Or hop in the car to Lake Windermere (two miles) or Coniston Water (ten miles) – getting out and about is a cinch with two off-road parking spaces. But if the weather doesn’t buck up, there are board games, a Playstation and Netflix here to amuse the kids (and the young at heart).
