The Old Sawmill is a first floor apartment by the river in Bakewell. The accommodation comprises of three double bedrooms, a shower room, an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, and a mezzanine sitting area accessed via a spiral staircase. Outside is parking for two cars, and the river and amenities of the town are on the doorstep. From The Old Sawmill, Chatsworth House, Buxton and beyond are easily accessed, making this a wonderful base for couples or friends, whatever the time of year.

An attractive little market town retaining a delightful rural atmosphere and offering a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as frequent local farmers' markets.

The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

We really enjoyed our stay and found the Old Sawmill to be ideally situated for everything we wanted to do.. We were delighted that there were biscuits, milk and tea awaiting us on our arrival and the accommodation had everything we needed. The only problem we had was with one of the beds which was not very comfortable, which we think was due to an old mattress which was rather 'saggy'. Otherwise, a good stay.

This was a fantastic place to stay.. Aside from the amazing location the accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The milk in the fridge was much appreciated as were the biscuits by the children! We loved sitting at the table and watching the world (and ducks) go by. Everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

The Apartment was great with Fantastic views over looking the river from the living room window and the location is excellent with the town centre only being a stones throw away. The owner left milk in the fridge and biscuits on the side for our arrival which was lovely gesture. There's plenty of walks in the area and loads to see and do nearby. Another set of keys would of been useful as my partner had to stay in when I popped out as I wouldn't of been able to get back in. I would definitely recommend this Apartment x

We had a lovely relaxing time at the Old Sawmill.. Could not ask for a better spot in Bakewell, the river is directly outside the window and the town, pubs and bakeries are a footstep away! Also a great spot for walks, bike rides etc..

Despite rain and sleet we dodged the bad weather and managed to get out and about without too much trouble.. Having The Monsal Trail close by was a positive and we made use of cafes along the route. Plenty of interesting shops in Bakewell itself. Only moments away over the footbridge.

The apartment was wonderful- perfect for 6 friends wanting a place to spend New Year.. The site does not do it justice, it is much bigger and has much more than advertised, not to mention the great location. It was really very lovely!

We had stayed here previously and it was just as good again great cottage great location and great facilities my only want would be staying in the colder months if possible it would be lovely to have curtains to draw to keep out draughts as we had small baby and toddler with us and it was quite cool in evenings in bedrooms.. Had to contact owner and found her very approachable and helpful which is always good.

'The Old Sawmill' is a little gem of a holiday home, this very spacious apartment is well equipped and tastefully decorated, with the advantage of ample parking space.. Perfectly located for the Bakewell Showground and the town centre, and a great starting point and a comfortable return for all visitors/walkers. To make a comment: a spare set of house keys would have been useful, but this is not a negative comment.

Fabulous cottage in a great location.. Only a minute from the town centre and with great acccess to many walks in the area. Hope to be back in the future and would highly recommend this cottage. An extra set of keys and a dvd player would be useful.

We have stayed for Christmas week 2016. Lots of food/drink/walk options from our doorstep. Didn't get in the car for 4 days after arriving! Very spacious, comfortable, practical accommodation for friends/family groups. Sharing one bathroom was no problem. We had hoped there would be some Christmas decorations but not too disappointed that there weren't.

What a find! This all-found, beautifully furnished apartment is well-located - close to everything in the town of Bakewell and an ideal location for exploring further afield.

The apartment is very central in a beautiful village. It is very comfortable and clean. The beds are that comfy you don't want to get up. There's a beautiful view from the lounge windows and it's only a two minute walk into the village. It isn't suitable for disabled people if they can't do stairs as it's on the first floor. We would certainly stay here again. There are a few things that would make it perfect... 1. A pint of milk would be a lovely extra, especially when travelling from afar 2. A better toaster with four slots as it's a real bind with only two especially if six people are staying 3. A list of important things eg local doctors, dentist, days bins go, recycling, etc is very important Another key would be great as if there are six people not everyone goes out together All in all though a lovely apartment and as we've said would love to come again
