September 2020
Cottage was lovely and clean, hot tub was amazing.. Ali was very helpful when we needed her. The milk, flapjacks and dog treats were a lovely surprise. The garden is lovely and secluded so you can relax in peace. Even got to use the BBQ twice during our stay which was an added bonus. Will definitely be back.

Great place to stay, looked beautiful, very clean, hot tub was incredible, but the worst mattress I have ever slept on, which put quite a downer on things.. It would be the only reason we wouldn’t come back.

Fabulous location and a brilliant apartment perfect for 2 - lots of lovely walks nearby and the two close villages both have dog friendly pubs which is a big plus.. Lots of information on arrival on nearby attractions and on arrival even some little treats for us and our dog! warm welcome from the owners when we arrived and then left us to our own devices and not at all intrusive. Lovely big enclosed garden and the hot tub was great

We absolutely loved our stay here, it was perfect.. Aliet us after we arrived and gave us a warm welcome and gave us information and even left a nice treat for our arrival. My partner and I stayed with our, the garden was perfect, our dog loved it and it was secure and private so we didn't have to worry about him getting out. There is plenty of space for 2 in the cottage and feels really cosy. The cottage is I between 2 small villages, both have a shop and pubs. We walked to the new Inn pub at leven for some lunch, it was really nice and dog friendly so perfect when walking the dog. Food was lovely and not expensive either. The hot tub in the garden was amazing after a day of walking, it really did complete the package. We also visited fraisthorpe Beach which was about 15 minutes drive from the cottage, I highly recommend visiting if you have a dog it's beautiful and quiet and dog friendly. All in all we had the best few days away relaxing away from bust life at home. We will definitely be back again. Thank you!

October 2019
This was a wonderful little cottage, built to a good standard, impeccably clean, furnished well and presented impeccably.. It had a hot tub in a private secluded garden and was very dog friendly with no doggy after smells in the cottage. Bed was large and comfortable, shower was wonderful and the kitchen was spacious and had everything for the keen self caterer. The owner was available and friendly without being intrusive and was even flexible with the arrival and departure times. If you are interested in feedback then the only few things that I can think of that somebody might want to complain about are the following, but I stress this did not spoil our four night stay whatsoever. The settee and chair have seen better days and are now coming in to the realms of 'shabby chic'. Although the cottage is not on a main road even with windows closed there is some traffic noise perhaps more noticeable due to the scarcity of traffic rather than a background buzz. Obviously this cannot be changed. All in all an excellent experience throughout.

September 2019
The cottage was lovely.. Lots of little things to make the holiday great. Milk, biscuits and dog treats on arrival. Lovely secure garden for our dog. Hot tub was fabulous. The owners live nextdoor so on hand if needed. It was a great base in an area we didn't really know. Everything fairly near by, beaches, country houses, market towns. Fabulous place. Highly recommended

August 2019
The accommodation itself was basic and adequate for what we needed to use as a base to explore not only the surrounding areas but to go further afield to York & Harrogate for example.. The welcome pack of tea, milk & biscuits was nice to have and the owner Ali was very welcoming. The property location was a bit of a surprise, in that it is situated just off a very busy road and not set further back into its own grounds. Consequently, the noise of the passing traffic (cars, buses & lorries) was a bit of a distraction when in the accommodation itself and even more so when sitting in the lovely secluded garden outside, enjoying the lovely weather that we were fortunate to have. A real plus, was that the hot tub was especially a delight to use and located away from the noise of the road at the far end of the garden. Unfortunately, there was also some noise distractions from a neighbours dog barking early morning/evening and some DIY sporadic work going on nearby, which on occasion was quite loud. All in all, we had a great holiday, but the end of the day return 'back to base' for total peace and tranquillity, to be able to unwind was simply just not possible. We will use Sykes again I am sure but we would not return to this particular property.
Mr Hayden, August 2019
June 2019
As the property faces west, on sunny evenings it can become very warm as there is a large floor to ceiling window and very little in the way of shading.. The laundry room Is actually in a store room that is dirty and dusty. The ironing board and iron are also stored there. The ironing board was so covered in dust it was unusable.
Mrs Hazel, June 2019

What a fantastic cottage brilliant location.. Garden is fully secure for our dog. Everything you need is in cottage. The welcome pack was much appreciated even some treats for our dog.The hot tub was a great way to end the day. Will definitely be back in the future.

Recently visited for a short break in Yorkshire. Really friendly owners (Ali & John), and never intrusive. Accommodation was perfect for what we needed. Had a Fridge freezer, including complimentary pint of milk for a cuppa when we arrived, kitchen had microwave, some tea, coffee, sugar, cleaning & washing up stuff, assortment of crockery, cutlery, pans, oven was a gas hob & electric oven - spotless. Availabilty of a vacuum cleaner, fans, mop&bucket, extension lead, toaster, wash-up sponge, dish-cloth & tea towel, dishwasher. Also includes a 3-seat sofa, recliner arm chair, 2-seat breakfast table, tv, bluray DVD, some DVD's, books, info leaflets, towels, slippers, drawers and hangers for clothing, washing machine, BBQ (coals & gas), enclosed garden, wifi and a couple of torches. Hot tub was excellent and used every day. Would definately recommend the lodge as a place to stay to visit the local area. Some fantastic sunsets and local walks. Local amenities and places to eat. Ideal for a short break and dog friendly.

June 2018
I was worried that the location of the sunset view would be a little remote but it was fine.. The accommodation was perfect just what we were looking for and it was central to all the places we wanted to go. The beach at Fraisethorpe was the best for doggies, our loves if and the "Cow shed" café/restaurant had great food and refreshments and was very close to the beach. From the accommodation in the evening we did see some great sunsets, but most special was the Barn Owl, as we sat in the evening looking over the countryside, just about dusk every night the ghostly appearance of the Owl against the fading light of the field and trees was spectacular as it searched for its next vole. The garden was very secure for even the smallest dog which was very comforting as our dog is tiny and an escape artist. All found this was a great venue and a great location, I would happily recommend this to anyone looking to explore the Yorkshire Wolds.

The SunSet View lodge is so clean and modern yet classy.. It has everything you need plus a secure garden if you’re taking your pooch which is a massive bonus! The hot tub was perfect on a cold winters evening. The local area is great to explore we had some lovely days out with the dog. All & John are both excellent hosts. Thanks so much!

Sunset view is a lovely little cottage.. Very warm and cosy with everything we needed for a week's holiday. Our dog loved the secure garden and we loved the hot tub after a long day of walking! There is a nice local village within walking distance as well. We received a very warm welcome from the owners, who made it clear they were around if we needed anything. Beautiful views from the cottage of the countryside were a huge bonus. Would certainly rebook.

Both the accommodation and the welcome at this property are second to none. The apartment is airy, light, yet cosy when the weather isn't great. The view is peaceful and expansive; and as the sun sets, you can watch it disappear slowly from the comfort of a reclining chair. It is indeed Sunset Lodge. Linens and bedding are fresh and clean and the attention to every detail is comforting. Along with the quality fixtures and fittings it is the ideal base from which to explore all East Yorkshire has to offer. Whether you want to explore the heart of the countryside, or beside the sea. The beaches in Fraisthorpe and Hornsea are clean and not as busy as some of the bigger/better known towns, Allowing you and a furry friend to enjoy playtime and walks aplenty. The private and enclosed garden at the property is perfect for two in the hot-tub, or to keep your furry friend safe to explore with or without you. To end the day there are a number of eating places to choose from locally which you can enjoy either take-away, or with your pet. With a range of prices to suit every pocket. The fish and chips in Brandesburton are excellent and Berts Italian is more expensive, but beautiful quality food. Should you wish to create your own culinary masterpiece, the kitchen facilities are more than adequate. Finally, if there isn't everything you need, the owners are incredibly helpful and approachable and i wouldn't have thought twice to ask for any help/advice i needed.

The cottage was to a very high standard and we found the owners very helpful, the enclosed garden was excellent for us to soak up the sun and relax and also keep our dog happy playing with his ball. We found some brilliant walks in the welcome pack and had excellent weather to walk some of them. The layout of the cottage is very good indeed, the entertainment equipment is also very good, for example; TV, DVD and iPod dock, we particularly liked the free WiFi broadband as we both are tech minded. Shops are near enough to walk to and Bridlington and Hornsea aren't very far by car. We had such a good holiday here that we have booked again in July.

The property is brand new and well designed and built. It is decorated to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings. The owners have thought of everything you will need even down to a good selection of DVDs. There is a good sized enclosed garden that is ideal for a dog, it was very hot when we were there and we kept the door open so that our dog could potter in and out as he pleased. If you like walking there are plenty of walks in the local area. The nearest village is Leven, and the local Costcutter has a very good range. The friendly owners live next door but leave you to your own devices. There is a laundry room on the ground floor with everything you need.
