Lower Driftwood is a ground floor apartment based in the town of Amble in Northumberland. It has two bedrooms including a double and a single room as well as a family bathroom, it can sleep three people. Also inside there is an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area. To the outside there is off road parking for one car. Lower Driftwood is a stylish apartment in a great location to be enjoyed at any time of the year.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x single. Bathroom with walk-in shower with underfloor heating, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Utility.

Area
The seaport of Amble is at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Amble offers a marina, a harbour, beaches and coastal walks to Hauxley and Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now a shell fish hatchery, this sells fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with terns, puffins and ducks and boat trips around the island. Alnmouth and Craster and numerous beaches are only a short drive away, whilst Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Great area to visit.. The cottage is close to the centre of Amble which makes it ideal for the local shops, cafes and restaurants

Very poor quality mattress (same comment in visitor book) Bathroom .. ..no paper,soap, anywhere to dry towels, no tray in shower had to bend for shampoo etc on slippy floor (again other comments). Outside covered in old pigeon droppings, not their fault but nothing provided to sweep up & wipe down table & chairs so unusable Lack of kitchen basics kitchen roll hand soap, bin liners, pegs & no recycling info (again other comments)

We expected a wi if connection but there was no info to tell us how to unlock.. In fact there was no info at all or any tourist brochures. No idea when to put bins out etc. Otherwise apartment was very good and location superb.

The place was lovely - well decorated, clean and in a very good location with regard to walking distance to local shops.. It was also helpful to be able to have off-street parking. Amble is a lovely little town and well placed for visiting all of the other popular locations and towns in the area.

Perfect retreat in the centre of Amble.. Perfect for myself and husband as he has restricted mobility. There is level access into a pretty yard withering lovely secluded patio. We could get him into shower easily as it was quite large although there is one small step up, The apartment was finished to a very high standard and had every thing we needed. Richard the owner was very helpful. Beautiful part of the country. Will definitely be back.
