Nearby Meldon has a quarry, viaduct and reservoir which each offer scenic spots and great walking routes to spot all three. Nearby, Okehampton is home to the ruins of a medieval castle, the Museum of Dartmoor Life, a golf club, a train station and ample shops, bars and eateries.
