Bootham Bolt Hole in York, North Yorkshire

Perfectly situated 10 minutes walk from the City centre. This comfortable and romantic apartment was just what we needed for our first ever trip to York. The apartment was easy to find and has its own cosy parking space which is best reversed into. Walking up the 2 flights of stairs you are greeted by a welcome mat that sets the tone for your stay. You enter the front door and move right where you enter a wonderful open plan kitchen diner and lounge. Wonderfully decorated with luxury fitments and appliances. There is ample storage in the luxurious bedroom with interesting fluffy black bed-side lamp shades. The bed is extremely comfortable and we slept well every night after walking all around York during the day time. The bathroom is well furnished and has a shower to die for. Not only an amazon rain forest shower head but also a waterfall and a full body spray. It is easy to use up all the hot water if you are not careful using the body shower. The roads around the apartment are not too busy during and you hardly notice the train track outside. No trains during the night. We did however see a steam train whilst we were preparing to leave the apartment for the day. Our host was extremely kind and helpful. We were allowed in early which was good as we had driven for over 4 hours. Towels and bedding was all fresh and clean and the entire apartment was well looked after. We only used the hob in the kitchen twice as we ate out most of the time but the kitchen appliances are of a high quality and I would see almost new. I cannot wait until the time comes to visit York once again and I will definitely be staying here.

The location of this apartment is central only 5 minutes walk from the minister, but is not on a busy road so very relaxing. You have all the amenities on your doorstep yet loads of great walks. The apartment has everything you need for a self catering holiday. We had a great time in York mostly down to having a great apartment to stay in. We will definitely want to stay here again.

Comfortable apartment with designated parking space.. This means you can leave the car to walk around York to visit all the interesting places, shops and open spaces. Recommend the slow stroll by the river or the ten minute quicker route by Bootham. Shops cafes restaurant river and train station all within easy reach. Quiet location but not too far from everything you need. And you can see the top of the Minister through the trees!

The bolt hole is a well equipped and very clean apartment.. Perfect location, only a few minutes walk into the centre. Its all you need and more for a lovely stay in york.

Really nice flat for 2 people, everything you need.. Great location, easy walk to the Shambles and town centre and most major attractions.

Bootham Bolthole is a perfect home from home in York.. Spacious living area with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Chris, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. Very well placed to walk into York within minutes to an extensive array of excellent pubs, shops and cafes. We would definitely stay here again.

Bootham Bolt Hole is a wonderful flat.. It is cosy, comfortable and well furnished. It is in a quiet street, a short walk into York Minster area. We enjoyed being able to leave the car in it’s allocated parking place, great to have parking included in the cost. We loved our week spent exploring York, coming back to stretch out on comfy settees, relaxing with a glass of wine. Loads of nice places to eat nearby with recommendations from the owner also. Will definitely be back.

Bootham Bolt Hole is a fabulous find.. A delightful (flat) walk into the city taking no more than 10 minutes and even closer for a local shop, eateries and some excellent independent shops. The apartment itself was tastefully decorated with plenty of living space. The owners have gone to great care to make you feel at home and we commented that we felt like we were staying in their home as opposed to a holiday let.

Bootham Bolt Hole is a fabulous apartment situated in a beautiful area of York.. The locality means that once you park your car in its own reserved parking space you can navigate the city easily on foot. Seeing the Minster from the lounge window is a delight and a reminder of just how special this city is. The apartment is furnished to the highest standards and offers total comfort and relaxation in a quiet street, yet only a few steps from the bustling city centre. With dishwasher, washing machine, freezer, full central heating, constant hot water, Sky TV .... I cannot think of anything which is missing. The Bolt Hole comes with attentive friendly owners who checked in that all was well at the start of our week and wished us well at the end.

This apartment is lovely, within walking distance to the city, sainsburys local and a few pubs and eateries.. The parking space is just heaven, we arrived Friday parked the car and it never moved for the whole week. Tea coffee sugar and milk awaiting your arrival :0) we really enjoyed our stay here very much.

We had an eventful arrival, as the previous visitors had forgotten to go home! Thanks to Chris, who sorted this out by booking us one night in a hotel nearby. Not the best start to our holiday, but it sorted the mess out. Chris added an extra day to our stay in his Bootham Bolt Hole, enabling us to enjoy a full week there. We loved York and didn't need to use our car once. Loved the trains too! Would be happy to return to the Bolt Hole in the future.

A very comfortable and convenient apartment, with very helpful and friendly owners.. The mattress is high quality and very comfortable, which is important for older visitors! We stayed during the heatwave and found it cooler than our own house, as it's very airy. Highly recommended

A superb apartment on the edge of the city, well within walking distance to the attractions of this magnificent city.. Bootham Bar at the gateway to the city walls, The Minster and eating out are all within just a few minutes walk. A superb river walk is accessed at the bottom of Bootham Terrace and well worth a visit, we walked all the way to Bishopgate and then got a taxi back, dont miss. The apartment itself was clean, well equipped and comfortable with fine views towards The Minster. Car parking at the property was a bonus. Highly recommendable.

Just returned from a fabulous pre Christmas break at Bootham Bolt hole.. As soon as we walked into the property we were impressed by the decor and space. It was a real home from home and within easy walking distance to the city (5 to 10 mins) it was a perfect base. Chris the owner was very helpful before, during and at the end of our stay. He was able to sort out a minor issue very quickly over the phone but was not at all intrusive. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay was available in the property and the little extras such as tea, coffee and milk were a welcome addition. The property had been decorated for Christmas too which made it even more special. The only downside was the noise from the train line at the front of the property but it certainly didn’t affect our stay and some noise is to be expected in a busy city. The allocated parking space is a must if traveling by car and we made full use of it. The car didn’t move from arriving to leaving but the train station is only a short walk away too. I would highly recommend the property and would book here again without hesitation if it was available. Thank you Chris for the use of your lovely home.

The Bolt Hole is 10 min walk from the City Walls so there is no need for your car once you have parked up in the reserved space in the car park behind the building. From the moment we were greeted by the owners to leaving we could not fault the place. Janine and Chris explained everything to us and were a phone call away if needed. We didnt need them as it was perfect. The rooms are immaculate with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. We used the day bed and pull out bed too which were more than adequate for us all and had excellent nights sleep. The shower was amazing. There was enough hot water for the four of us. We stayed for a week as we got married in the beautuful City and Janine and Chris made our stay extra special. This accommodation is so much nicer than a lot of Hotels and Bed & Breakfasts we have stayed in over the years in York and we have stayed in a lot. We hIghly recommend staying here. It is quiet, has everything you need and the perfect place to either just relax or take a walk into the City to sightsee. Thank you for having us. We will definately be booking another stay with you in 2018 ... hopefully our first Wedding Anniversary

Central location with a 5 minute stroll through the museum gardens, river bank or Bootham to the centre of York. Easy check in/out with a key safe, awesome waterfall shower (i could stay in it all day), free allocated parking saves a fortune in York, very comfortable, classy, light and airy. Close enough to the attractions yet just tucked away in a peaceful leafy lane. No lift but only two flights of stairs so no problem for us. every thing you need, free tea & coffee, 40" smart TV, free wifi, comfortable beds. Highly recommended. One of the best self catering accommodation properties we've stayed in.

Super apartment, excellent value for money.. So easy to walk I to York - 5 minutes! Quiet and comfortable.

Stunning contemporary apartment. Faultless. The location is perfect as so close to all attractions. Allocated parking space a real boon. The owner spent quite some time talking to me the night before our holiday to make sure I was happy. When I explained some plans we had for the holiday he gave me lots of helpful tips. His email contact prior to the holiday was also prompt and super helpful.

Extremely warm and comfortable accommodation.

We were met on arrival by the owner and his wife who showed us all around the apartment, they were very helpful and attentive, we only had to text or phone them and they would come if something was wrong. The apartment was ideally situated for visiting York - a 10 minute stroll to the walls one way and 10 minutes walk to the Railway Museum the other. No need to use the car at all. The kitchen, lounge area was very light and bright - you could see the Minster from the front window. It was well fitted out with everything needed and had wifi. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was superb. The only downside, if you are somewhat disable, is the two flights of stairs but we are two oaps and we managed fine. Yes, we will definitely return.

Just spent a week at the Bootham Bolt Hole and loved it. Beautiful apartment just a short stroll from York Minster. The apartment has everything (and more) that you could want. Beautifully decorated and furnished with a fabulolus shower room. The owners kept in touch via text and were very obliging and helpful, Lovely touch having christmas trimmings and a nice bottle of bubbly waiting for us on our arrival. York is a superb city with so much to see, do, eat and drink. We cannot recommend this place highly enough

The apartment was the perfect 'bolt hole' from which to explore York, providing a homely and welcome base to return to. It is conveniently situated just a short walk from York Minster and The Shambles, with easy access to all the sights, shops, restaurants and pubs. It was very well appointed, modern and decorated impeccably throughout. A real slice of luxury for the weekend.

We have stayed at many, many different types of accommodation all over the country and must say that the apartment was a warm and welcoming place to spend our week. The owner was always ready to help and always at the end of a phone.
