"Kate's Cottage Ideal for two or on your own." We had a lovely stay at Kate's Cottage in Barna our first time to stay. Ideal cottage for two good fit out and clean. Location is good for travelling both in Galway & Clare with Barna having ample top class places to eat & drink. Donnellys being overall best value for both. We availed of the wonderful Joe O'Toole for a very valuable transport service while not driving ourselves. Thanks Kate & Carlos enjoy your own holiday.

The cottage was very clean and modern. In my opinion the cottage was nice. It had a fridge, washing machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, bed linen, towels, tea towels, hair dryer, electric cooker, plates, utensils, wardrobe, TV, Wifi, etc – everything we needed really. The Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful place. It is about 1.5 Km from Barna Village where you find nearby beaches, various shops and Restaurants, a Supermarket and a lovely Hotel (The Twelve). We stayed for a week in this cottage in July 2012. We all had a fabulous time. The hosts were brilliant and really genuine people, friendly, warm and very helpful anytime with the local guide and some local advice on where to go and what to do. On arrival, they make you feel at home. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a lovely peaceful holiday, away from the bustle of the city centre.

"great little cottage" This lovely cottage enjoys the sun which does not always shine in the Irish summer. extremely nice and discrete landlords who can give all sorts of advice. They have their own cultivated vegetables which they share generously. Behind the cottage you can enjoy a place in the sun - if it shines. The cottage is very well equipped with washing machine and all sorts of nice things. Galway is nearby; Barna itself has a good infra-structure and the cottage is situated in the middle of the wonderful Irish landscape. We would love to return anytime!

"Cozy Cottage in a Beautiful Location" I was in need of somewhere to live in a hurry and happened upon this cottage. I contacted the owners who were accommodating and were very friendly. The Cottage had everything I needed and the wood burning stove heated up the space very quickly. The location is beautiful and peaceful. All in all I was delighted to find this Cottage and thanks to the owners for being so helpful.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage. It was very comfortable - had everything you might need, all cooking facilities, electric shower, tv, wifi. It was spotlessly clean. We actually had our son with us and the owner supplied a camp bed for him. It is about a mile from Barna - we found it was easy to walk down to the town for dinner/drinks and get a taxi back. Barna is a beautiful spot, fab restaurants and close to Salthill, Spiddal and Galway city. Lots of lovely beaches, such a relaxing destination. I would certainly stay in the cottage again.

The owners gave us a warm welcome after a very long drive from Kent, and it was lovely to find a very well equipped and comfortable cottage with beds made up and clean towels available. For urbanites like us who had never been to Ireland before, the peace of the surrounding countryside (with cows for neighbours!) was a real treat, and the owners are on hand, but never obtrusive, if there are any queries. The only downsides were elements out of their control, such as the unpredictable weather and the variable internet access. You do need a car - that mile up from the village is a long one! I recommend a day trip to Inish Mor (but check the weather forecast!) This was a highlight for us.

The fully equipped chalet was perfect for my needs, being clean, cosy and comfortable at the end of a long day's hiking etc. The bathroom was a bit small but still worked well. Great kitchen facilities. The owners would go out of their way to make sure everything was just right. Located in a rural setting, just one mile up the hill from Barna pier, beach and village, it is also only a short drive / bus ride into Galway City or out into the wilds of Connemara. Buses for the ferries to the Aran Islands also pick up in the village. Plus points are that the chalet is quiet and peaceful. Negative points? Hard to think of any!
