When choosing a home for a city break, there are pros and cons to staying as close to the centre as possible. When it comes to Madrid, this apartment makes a convincing case for looking slightly outwards.
First off, you're unlikely to get access to an outdoor swimming pool if you're right in the middle of the city, but that's the case here — in the height of summer, this will really come into its own.
The apartment itself is impressive too, thanks to its wealth of chic design touches — we're big fans of the minimalist fireplace, transparent desk and large grey corner sofa with room for the whole party.
And as is often the case with homes on the outer edges of major metropolises, there's a lot of green space nearby. Parque Quinta de los Molinos, for instance, takes all of ten minutes to reach on foot. Head there during springtime and there's every chance you'll catch the almond trees in blossom. When you want a change of pace at any point, it's possible to get to Gran Via in half an hour on the Metro.
