The house enjoys a secluded rural location on the edge of the pretty hamlet, Pennorth. From your door, you can set off on walks along the footpaths that snake into the hills. With stables beside the cottage, you can even bring your own horse and take advantage of the glorious riding trails here. Or if you fancy taking in some ancient history, hike 2 miles to the Allt Mountain, home to an Iron Age fortress. Set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, enthusiastic walkers should take in the majestic heights of Pen Y Fan (12 miles). Mountain bikers are close to the famous Taff trail which stretches all the way to Cardiff in the South. For something more serene visit the spectacular Blaen y Glyn waterfalls (9 miles) passing Talybont Reservoir which is often teeming with migratory birds. Explore the market town of Brecon (5 mls) with its cathedral, theatre, canal side pathway walks, river and many independent shops and eateries. The cottage itself is a spacious home, architect designed in the 60s. It retains the spirit of that era, with bright, colourful rooms and a celebratory feel. Make home in the large lounge, curl up on the sofas in front of the Smart TV and enjoy the warmth from the wood burner effect fire. For those who enjoy countryside views, the sunny conservatory is the perfect place to relax looking out over uninterrupted views of the Usk Valley. The well equipped kitchen with Rangemaster double oven, with five ceramic hobs and grill, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer ensures that cooks have everything they need to whip up exciting meals for the whole group. The adjacent dining area has a large table for all guests to sit around in comfort while enjoying the wide ranging views through the floor to ceiling windows. After a busy day, head to your peaceful bedrooms, from king size to bunk beds, so everyone can find a hideaway to suit them. On the ground floor you will find a super king size bed, which can be made into twins with an en suite shower room; a twin room and a bunk room. There is also a family bathroom. Head up to the first floor to find another three bedrooms; one twin bedroom, which can be made into a king size bed, with en suite shower room, one king size bedroom with en suite shower room, plus a double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower and there's a family bathroom with shower on this floor. Outside the property has a magnificent garden with a sociable patio area and a long sloping lawn. Enjoy al fresco meals at the picnic tables where you can also fire up the BBQ. There's plenty of space for a family game on the grass. Ample private parking is available on site.
