Port Appin is a picturesque coastal village with excellent local facilities, and many places of interest nearby. It is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise, as the area is rich in beautiful walks, varied cycle tracks and opportunities for a variety of watersports. The village is not only stunningly pretty, but also boasts two award-winning hotels, a village shop/Post Office, a bicycle hire shop and fishing from the jetty. From the small jetty, a 5 minute ferry ride will take you across the Lynn of Lorn to the unspoilt island of Lismore, the most accessible of the Argyll islands, and a beautiful tranquil place steeped in history with ruined castles and an Iron Age Broch. The bustling town of Oban is a short drive to the south and just 29 miles north is Fort William with Ben Nevis - the largest mountain in Britain; both places are well worth a visit!
