Mrs Wilkinson, December 2019

Y Beudy is in an easy to find location, just off a main road, but despite its proximity it’s very quiet.. The views across the mountains are stunning and with the weather constantly changing it’s fascinating to watch. The cottage itself is well equipped, with comfortable beds and two bathrooms. It’s a little chilly there in November, whilst the underfloor heating is good, it wasn’t the easiest to regulate. There is a log burning stove which gives off a lot of heat of cold nights. The mobile phone signal is quite poor and the internet connection is not reliable, but it’s nice to be away from the constant communications. Contacting the owner was simple and he was quick to respond to messages.
The shops in Criccieth are close by down a narrow country lane. If heading to Criccieth it’s worth booking the restaurants in advance as they do seem to book up. If you like castles there are plenty within driving distance. An excellent base to explore that part of Wales from.
