Set in a lovely rural location on a 96-acre working farm, this charming single-storey barn conversion is one of three holiday homes close to the quaint Welsh town of Criccieth. This charming property offers quality accommodation that combines the period appeal of exposed beams with up-to-date modern furnishings. Other accommodation includes a cosy living room with woodburning stove and a pretty garden with patio area, making this a great home-from-home whether you plan on taking a summer break by the sea or a winter trip to get away from it all. The property also boasts panoramic views of Snowdonia National Park and is in a central position for walking, cycling, watersports or fishing.

Accomodation Details
All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double with en-suite wet room with shower, basin and WC, 1 x family room with 1 double and 1 single. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Shared washing machine in utility. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner.

Area
Often referred to as one of Wales's hidden gems, the seaside town of Criccieth is just five miles from picturesque Porthmadog. With an impressive 13th century castle set on a dramatic rocky outcrop, the town possesses an imposing skyline and superb views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. With two beaches, water sports enthusiasts are guaranteed to find something to their liking amongst the many seaside facilities on offer. Walkers and cyclists can also enjoy a wide range of trails through the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. There are numerous beaches in the area with diverse wildlife such as porpoises, as well as a wide variety of pubs, restaurants and tea-rooms. Added attractions for the whole family includes the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Portmeirion's wonderful Italianate gardens and the castles at Harlech and Caernarfon.

Patio with furniture, BBQ and lawned area. One well-behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops, pubs and restaurants 3 miles. Beach 3 miles.

The area and views are breathtaking. Cricceth is just so beautiful. Amazing local beeches and national parks. YBeudy farm cottage in Cricceth however was a different story. We had to leave early due to being unwell. The property was not Covid safe at all. The property had not been cleaned at all. The beds and quilts stained with urine and I believe other body fluids. Two very flat hard pillows in one case. Human and dog hair along with food under the cushions on the sofa. The oven had old cooked food in it and under the edge of the hob was full of food and old grease. The en-suite bathroom floor tiles were broken the sink area was dirty and stained. No where to put shower gel etc other than the toilet or floor. And and flying ant infestation from under the floors every day. Dog poo in the garden. The floor underneath sofa and table chairs were rotten and the draws and kitchen cupboard alike. No washing machine, no tea towels. The doors to the garden were full of dirt and sticky hands. Dirty used tissues underneath the bed and old food wrappers behind bedside cabinets. There is no information in the property re heating. Appliances etc. This really was an unhappy experience. I am well travelled and do not have too high expectations. I believe this was the dirtiest place Iv stayed in the Uk. And was NOT Covid safe. The holiday owner showed no care in our concerns and did not respond to Sykes who advertise YBeudy in Cricceth. The home owner clearly does care about people renting his holiday let and is only in the business to make a buck. Shame

Cottage was lovely, very modern and clean and cosy.. Host very easy to get hold of if needed. Only complaints are that it is more out in the sticks than descrided and tv and dvd player dont work. Would definitely recommend , is definitely worth the money.

Poor quality of fitments ,there was so many broke or damage items it had .... Poor quality of fitments ,there was so many broke or damage items it had obviously not been checked ( 4 weeks out of lockdown it should have been immaculate) broken grill in oven, damaged light and oven switches, broken toilet seat ,door and loo roll holder not up to sykes normal standard, certainly not worth the money

Found Sykes to be very helpful in aiding us to organise last minute break away.. Agree with many of the reviews about Y Beudy which state that it could do with a little TLC to make it the beautiful place it could be. Main things to improve would be newer bedding, guidance on how to use the under floor heating, access to hoover, dust pan and brush etc, fresh coat of paint throughout including front door. We enjoyed the views out to the mountains - when sitting down unable to see the main road; good location to access the area; fab wood burner and appreciated the kindling and bag of logs left to use which warmed the lounge beautifully quickly.

Y Beudy is in an easy to find location, just off a main road, but despite its proximity it’s very quiet.. The views across the mountains are stunning and with the weather constantly changing it’s fascinating to watch. The cottage itself is well equipped, with comfortable beds and two bathrooms. It’s a little chilly there in November, whilst the underfloor heating is good, it wasn’t the easiest to regulate. There is a log burning stove which gives off a lot of heat of cold nights. The mobile phone signal is quite poor and the internet connection is not reliable, but it’s nice to be away from the constant communications. Contacting the owner was simple and he was quick to respond to messages. The shops in Criccieth are close by down a narrow country lane. If heading to Criccieth it’s worth booking the restaurants in advance as they do seem to book up. If you like castles there are plenty within driving distance. An excellent base to explore that part of Wales from.

Great converted farm building with smart, spacious interior and good facilities.. Beautiful location with views towards Cwm Pennant. Exterior woodwork needs maintenance, as does garden. Wi-Fi not working although owner did try to fix it.

We met the owner on arrival because the central heating underfloor heating had broken.. He organised engineers but even with 3 visits no one could repair there for we had no heat for the week. We got by with electric heaters and by keeping a log burner going constantly, at our own expences. We were surprised to find no welcome pack. The accommodation was clean but cobwebs up in the beams, dirty light shades, various missing light bulbs and a flush that was very hard to work. The owner kindly organised a shower chair for our disabled friend, but the shower kept running cool so was unable to benefit from it. It's a stunning property but needs some decorating and maintenance on the outside doors and garden fence.

Though the cottage felt cold on our arrival once the underfloor heating came on and we lit the wood burning stove it was very cosy.. The cottage was in an ideal location for exploring the coast and the countryside . Early morning walk along the country lane was perfect . We enjoyed the rural quiet location with sheep in the field for company, but Criccieth was easily reached for shopping ice cream and afternoon tea.

Great location with fabulous views.. The cottage was lovely it didn't get a 10 as it needs a few extras, an oven glove and tea towels would have been appreciated and as many cottages do a welcome pack would have put the icing on the cake. Otherwise it was fab.

The cottage was very nice and set in a beautiful location, close enough to the shops in Porthmadog to top up for food etc,lovely beaches that go on for miles.. Went to Llanberis to walk up Snowdonia, views where amazing. I would truly recommend this cottage, as it suited us perfectly.

On arrival the cottage drive is covered in weeds .. .. the lawn needed cutting , there were weeds growing through the patio slabs which must have been there months. Inside the cottage there were cobs webs every where , broken kitchen chair ... in the lounge area there was a chair covered with stains with a loose cover thrown over it. Stains on the carpet in main bedroom, the doors to both bathrooms catch on the floor.... toilet seat loose main bathroom. Also plug in en-suite did not hold water no bulb in the bedroom lamp. Outside again the front door the stain was peeling off, And the shed in front of the cottage the stain is also peeling off badly ..... it’s first impressions as you arrive at the cottage one more thing there was a bath plug chain thrown on the floor outside the cottage and a child’s very large rubber just left on the floor. And not a smell of fresh disinfectant or air freshener anywhere on arrival.

Really peaceful location with superb views.. Ideally place for exploring the Lynn peninsula and the little railways of Wales. Facilities are great with the wet room shower so much more convenient to access than a normal bath. Looking forward to booking here again in the future.

Holiday'd from 7-14 July 2018 - had a fantastic holiday! Accommodation was great and ideal for 4 adults sharing. Facilities in the cottage were superb. Views from the cottage are outstanding and the photos on the website don't do them justice!! Fortunate to have great weather for most of our stay and did a lot of local sight seeing. Criccieth is a beautiful little coastal town and a trip to Cadwaladers ice cream shop is a must, as is the Castle inn pub for a cracking burger!!

The cottage is a lovely rural location with fantastic views across the hills and mountains! It's situated just off the main Caernarfon - Porth Madog road within easy driving distance to Porth madog which all the amenities needed. The underfloor heating, hot water and water pressure are all fantastic and the WiFi is adequate. The rear garden was a good size to enable my large dog, Newfoundland, to have a good frolic! We stayed here for a week. The cottage is beautiful and the surroundings magnificent. With a good working kitchen it was easy to feel at home. Wifi was the only aspect that wasn't great- the owner provided a mobile hotspot but it wasn't the best signal. We would definitely stay here again.

A beautifully converted barn with long views over the attractive countryside. Great location for many of the sights and attractions of this part of Wales. Very helpful and friendly owner who didn't even mind that we were held up in traffic and arrived 1 hour late - with many apologies. I would recommend this property. Only small downside were the somewhat uncomfortable mattresses on the beds.

The location of the property was excellent with easy access to everything we wanted to do e.g. cycling, train rides, beaches, castles etc. which meant we never had to spend too long in the car - ideal with 2 young children. It was nice to have a garden from where we could enjoy the fantastic views across the countryside to the mountains. All in all, we had a really fab. holiday and just loved Wales! I think it's safe to say we would visit again!
