The historic town of Caernarfon rests in North Wales and is Gwynedd's county town. Home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Wales' most famous caste, the town has gained attention with tourists. There are also a wide range of shops, restaurants and pubs to choose from, plus a stylishly redeveloped waterfront which merits a visit. The Welsh Highland Railway can be joined from the town station and passes through the villages of Beddgelert and onto Porthmadog.
