The village of Clwt y Bont is on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and just 4 miles from Llanberis from where you can get the train or walk up Snowdon. There is walking from the door to explore the historic slate quarries, following in the footsteps of the quarry workers, or walks through the Padarn Country Park to the lake or National Slate Museum. There are also two lovely cafes just a stroll away. A short drive takes you to Caernarfon with its famous castle, walled town, marina and Welsh Highland Railway. Zip World Velocity, the fastest Zip wire in the world, is 10 miles away and the beaches of Anglesey about half an hours drive away.
