Carreg Lwyd is a mid-terrace cottage located in the mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The cottage sleeps up to three people in two bedrooms - one double and one single with additional pull-out trundle bed for flexibility. There is also a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. The living area consists of a fitted kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with multi-fuel stove. Outside there are a rear decked patio area with furniture and BBQ and a front gravel patio. Blaenau Ffestiniog is a town in North Wales, ideal for discovering the Snowdonia National Park, and is home to an array of amenities and slate mines which highlight the town's mining history. Porthmadog and Portmeirion are within easy reach, with the coast within driving distance.

Free roadside parking nearby, free public car park 100 yards away. Front gravel patio and rear decked patio with furniture and BBQ. Two well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops and pubs 10 mins walk. Note: Property accessed up 6 steps from roadside. Note: Front and rear garden areas are elevated with steep drops, children to be supervised. Note: Property will only accept teenagers (13+) no children. Note: Cottage on main road, some road noise may be heard at certain times.

We booked this trip quite late due to the Coronavirus situation.. The cottage is the sweetest, cosiest place and we would definitely recommend it. It was spotlessly clean - not even a tiny trace of dog which can be a problem in dog friendly cottages and for this reason we would normally avoid them. We had one day where, due to Storm Francis, we were unable to leave the cottage but we still had a relaxing day watching TV and cooking in the well equipped kitchen. My daughter loved having g a TV in her room! There is a small car park nearby which we always managed to find a spot in. People do park selfishly though e.g. too close so it’s worth looking for an alternative. It might be a short walk but you can always find somewhere. The area is lovely - we visited the Slate Mine, Portmeirion, the Bryn Arms, Swallow Falls and would recommend them all.

Great little cottage close to Snowdonia national park.. Well equipped and comfortable furniture. Pub close by, 2 min walk and center of town only five min walk. Parking was in a nearby free carpark that could be full but I never didn't manage to get a space. Lots of attractions nearby if you like the active lifestyle but the Cottage was great just sit back and chill out in.

Fantasic little cottage with a very good location for exploring the national park.. The cottage is very well equiped and makes a comfortable and cosy home- which is much needed after a full day of hiking. I definitely recommend booking firstly through sykes and also for this cottage.

Being from the U.. S. and having never before visited Wales, I was really unsure of what I would be getting in a rental. The Carreg Lwyd cottage was perfect! It was exactly as listed and extremely clean and updated. The owner was so responsive with email replies. There is a grocery store within a few blocks of the cottage, making it easy to get groceries for the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who is visiting this area!

The cottage was in a perfect location for our walks up Snowdon and visiting the beautiful destinations of Betws-y-coed and Beddgelert. It was also well situated with all local amenities you could ever need. It is well equipped cottage that is very clean, well decorated and was so lovely to relax in and cosy up after a long day walking. Couldn't have been better for us, also it is the most comfy bed imaginable.
