Near the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in North Wales, Chwilog is a small settlement in an area known for its stunning scenery and diverse hiking opportunities. Just a mile from the settlement, the Afon Wen river empties into the sea. Criccieth, a lovely beach village with a 13th century castle perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains, is only a short drive away from the coast. The town's two beaches will satisfy watersports enthusiasts, while the Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away for walkers and cyclists. While you're there, don't forget to stop by one of the many taverns, restaurants, and tearooms to sample Cadwalader's famed ice cream.
