Ardwyn is a lovely detached cottage situated in the village of Bala just eleven miles from Corwen in North Wales. The cottage can sleep five people in two king-size double bedrooms and one single together with a family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a kitchen, sitting room with electric fire and conservatory with dining area. Outside is off road parking for three cars and an enclosed patio and lawn with furniture. Ardwyn is in a peaceful and tranquil location and perfect for exploring this lovely part of the country. Note: Max occupancy is 5 including infants due to space. Please note: short breaks must be Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday

The bustling market town of Bala lies within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and is located at the head of Llyn Tegid, Bala’s famous lake, which is the largest natural lake in Wales and home to a unique fish called the Gwyniad, a relic of the Ice Age. Renowned as a centre for great watersports including fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and whitewater rafting, Bala is also the headquarters of the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway.

Excellent holiday home with everything you could need.. The location is fantastic. A quick march to the lake with your canoe or SUP is easy and Bala town, with eating places and a well stocked large Co-op, a short stroll in the other direction. Owner very friendly, accommodating and on hand right next door.

The owner was super friendly and helpful, and is right next door to help with anything.. Location is great. Literally a few minutes walk to the lake for all the watersport fun there, and Bala is close to so many outdoor activities including some wonderful walking ...from short walks to historical sites through to longer and more challenging high walks. Very dog friendly but beware our dogs managed to find their way through the hedge and onto the road. The rental was very clean, instructions were clear and just right for a family of 5 and 2 dogs. We had a lovely stay, thank you.

Well sykes have outdone themselves with this one adsolutly wonderful location .... Well sykes have outdone themselves with this one adsolutly wonderful location for us oldies and the dog so much better than the last one for her Jip the owner such a wonderful lady having suffered losing her hubby last year still focused on us having good experience very apologetic on arrival as boiler had sprung a leak so no hot water but got plumber out immediately and all OK by monday that and even bad weather didn't stop us feeling so welcome and we appreciated wine and chocolates as a a very sorry gift will most defiantly book again hopefully a few times next year on leaving fae wanted to stop with Jip so that says it all

We have had a brilliant holiday, we know the area well but it is the first time we have stayed in Bala.. Absolutely loved the bungalow, it is spacious , very clean and we were able to use the garage for storage of kayaks and a bike.Brilliant location for the lake, 5 minutes away and the town is also within walking distance.Most of the pubs and eateries in town are dog friendly which is great for us.There is lots to do in snowdonia including plenty of rainy day activities.We went for the kayaking mainly but I would recommend this for anyone with watersports interests as is it such a good location for the lake and the white water centre just up the road.There is also a leisure centre next door to the lake with swimming pool and various classes.There are also lots of walks in the area,of mixed ability and length ( for smaller children ) Jip the owner lives next door and is very welcoming and helpful.I have 2 teenagers who ( are usually difficult to please! ) but they loved it too! We will definitely be back!!

We had a lovely holiday.. Ardwyn is clean and well equipped. The owner Jip lives next door and was welcoming and made sure we were happy with everything. Bala is only a short walk away and is a friendly town with everything you might need. It's also an ideal location for visiting other parts of north Wales. Thoroughly enjoyed the four night stay.. The property is ideally situated in peaceful surroundings on the edge of Bala five minute walk from both town and lake. It was within easy distance of many of the attractions of North Wales and Bala itself is both very friendly and dog friendly. The owner is a pleasant lady who is on hand if needed, but not intrusive which is ideal. The bungalow is both comfortable and well equipped.

Lovely spotless bungalow, fully equipped with everything you could need, (home from home) Garden is perfect for pets with 2 separate enclosed areas including outdoor seating.. The owner Jip is really friendly and would be there if you need anything. Bala lake and town centre within a couple of minutes walk. Lots of dog friendly places to eat, and convenient shopping eg. co-op, Spar etc. Had a lovely, relaxing weekend, will be going back again and can highly recommend.

Bala and countryside is a very picturesque place, good dog walks and very friendly people.. The bungalow was very cosy, clean and very quiet. It was just a 5 min walk into Bala which had plenty of cafe's and the food at the White Lion was very good and also the Eagle Inn which was just outside of Bala. Jip the owner of the bungalow was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our grandchildren who visited us enjoyed Gorwelion which had a children's play area and a very good cafe which was just outside Bala. The bungalow was very well equipped, dishwasher, washing machine, most things you would want. The dogs loved it and so did we. In fact we have stayed at 2 other Sykes cottages in other parts of North Wales and they were also excellent. Sonia, Philip, Andrew, Kristoffer, (Bruce and Kelly) The dogs.

Everything about our holiday accommodation was wonderful, the owner is a lovely kind lady, also the setting (Lake Bala) 5 minutes walk away.. ..stunning. Whilst there we booked again online for June 2019, the downside being if I had been patient I would have received a code for £40 off my next holiday, rather annoyed about that, not being retrospective I cannot claim it.

Lovely bungalow in an excellent location.. Bala is very pretty with all the amenities that you would wish for within a village. Many places to eat and have a drink with a ridiculous amount of walks in every direction! Our host, Jip, was very friendly and had furnished the property extremely tastefully with good attention to detail. We will certainly come back again!

We are just returning from a 2 night stay in this Bala cottage. Our party of 6 plus 2 dogs used this cottage as a base for our trip to Snowdon. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, having all the facilities you could wish for. It is in a quiet location not far from the lake and shops in Bala, or to explore more of Wales. We were made to feel very welcome and I would definitely recommend using this property and would return. I also think it would be good for our toddler, should we return with him next time.

The property was lovely, comfortable and spacious.. Lloyd and Jip were very welcoming and the scenery was beautiful with the lake being just a short walk away. We went a bit further afield exploring Llangollen and the Aqueduct which is not for the faint hearted but the views are more than worth it. Porthmadog is also worth a visit with a beautiful coastline. Will definitely be re-booking in the future.

The cottage was beautifully decorated and had plenty of facilities.. My only criticisms would be the lack of a tumble drier, but that's not a major concern. The WiFi connection was very intermittent and this did cause a few issues when looking up places to go, etc. In terms of location, the bungalow is perfectly positioned in Bala. Far enough out to be quiet and yet close enough so you can walk in. We certainly enjoyed not having to use the car for a number of days.

Ardwyn at Bala is well worthy of its high star rating.. Great location, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. There were even fresh cut flowers in the entrance hall when we arrived. The house was very clean and tidy.. There was only a few things that let it down. The broadband was hit and miss, more miss than hit. The bed was very hard so we struggled to get comfy at night. On the plus side, the owners are extremely friendly and helpful.
