My brother (who lives in Pennsylvania) and I were returning to the locality where we were born and brought up in the 50s and 60s.. Both Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn have seen changes, most for the good but some not so. Morfa Nefyn and Ty Coch are very popular and the location is beautiful. Not sure that I would classify this pub as one of the best in the world, expensive and the food there is nothing special, but the setting compensates for all that. We were brought up in Nefyn and spent hours on the beach every day. To my brother and I Nefyn certainly has the best beach and we recommend a visit. My father owned a fishing boat and we would fish for lobster, crab, mackerel and cod during the summer and net for herring in the winter months. There are wonderful walks along the cliffs between the two villages. What was disappointing and somewhat distressing was to see the baptist chapel in Nefyn being left to go to ruin, uncared for and open to the elements. Whoever owns the site needs to pull the building down rather than leave it as it is. Our apartment in Morfa Nefyn was ideal and very comfortable, well equipped though we would have liked two sets of keys so that we had a bit more flexibility. We hope to return in the future.
