Porthmadog, a lively harbour town just 2 miles away on the scenic Glaslyn Estuary, is home to the Ffestiniog Railway and Welsh Highland Railway, where you may take a steam train through the breathtaking Snowdonia landscape. Tremadog, with its bars and restaurants, is not far away, and neither is the charming village of Borth-y-Gest, with its cliffs and bays. You can also easily travel to the nearby, world-famous Italianate village of Portmeirion. Visit the imposing castles of Criccieth, Harlech, and Caernarfon; delve into the slate caverns of Llechwedd; go out on the water for a day of sea, course, or game fishing; or just relax and enjoy the scenery. You couldn't ask for a better base from which to explore Snowdonia and the rest of the stunning Llyn Peninsula.
