Area
Chwilog is a small village on the Llyn Peninsula, near Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. The Afon Wen river runs through the village and into the sea. Criccieth is a seaside town with a 13th-century castle on a rocky outcrop with views of Tremadog Bay and Snowdonia. The town's two beaches are great for watersports, and Snowdonia National Park is nearby for walkers and bikers. Stroll the beaches, watch porpoises in the surf, or relax in pubs, restaurants, and tea rooms with Cadwalader's ice cream. Abersoch is a harbour village between two bays. It's one of North Wales' most popular sailing venues, and summer regattas are held there. Shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafes serve tourists. Windsurfing, waterskiing, dinghy sailing, and surfing at Hell's Mouth are popular watersports. Portmeirion's Italianate gardens, Porthmadog's shops and restaurants, the Ffestiniog railway, Harlech Castle, Pwllheli, host to European and world sailing events, Caernarfon Castle, and the Llyn Peninsula's beaches and golf courses are all within an easy drive.
