Tyn Y Cefn is a single-storey cottage with bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds, each with electric blankets. The property includes a shower room, a well-equipped kitchen/diner, and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. There's also electric central heating, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a TV with Freeview, WiFi, and a selection of books. Fuel and an initial £50 of power are included, with additional power available via a coin meter. Bed linen and towels are also provided, and a travel cot is available. Outside, there is driveway parking for two cars and a semi-enclosed (due to low wall; pets must be supervised) private garden with a lawn and picnic bench. One well-behaved pet is welcome by prior arrangement. Note: Sitting room is accessed via both bedrooms, there are low doorways throughout, and two steps lead down between the bedroom and the sitting room. The owners live next door. Tyn Y Cefn provides a delightful retreat with its quaint charm.

The fascinating old slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is situated in a superb position for exploring the Snowdonia National Park. There is a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. The main local attractions include Zip World Slate caverns, the longest zip line in Europe and fastest in the world, this is a great underground adventure. The slate mines now hold the prestigious status of a world heritage site, awarded by UNESCO and visitors can take enthralling underground trips there to see mining as it was done in days gone by. The famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog mountain railway also runs for 13 miles through the Snowdonia National Park to the harbour town of Porthmadog. Nearby is Portmeirion village, famous for its architecture and the film set of the cult TV series The Prisoner, plus local beaches, suitable for children, are within easy driving distance.
