Area Close to Snowdonia and the stunning Isle of Anglesey, Bangor in North Wales is a vibrant university town which boasts a great selection of shops, pubs, cafes, galleries and restaurants and has the accolade of having the longest high street in Wales, making it the perfect spot for some browsing. Take the bridge over to Anglesey for some fantastic days out and pack a picnic and head to one of the island's many fabulous beaches including Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay, Amlwch and Newborough. Lace up your boots and head along the Anglesey Coastal Path for a bracing walk, spot some wildlife and take in some breath-taking views along the way. There are some spectacular National Trust properties in the region with Plas Newydd on Anglesey and Penrhyn Castle and Bodnant Gardens on the mainland. Snowdonia offers a stunning backdrop to the region and the magnificent mountains and lakes deserve exploring while you are enjoying a break in Bangor.
