Mr Wilkinson
September 2020
Comfortable, warm and well-appointed cottage with off-road parking in a peaceful village surrounded by sheep fields.. The only improvement that could be made to the holiday cottage would have been the addition of wi-fi (which would have been especially useful at th moment as some of the local tourist information centres were closed or had restricted access due to Covid-19).
Surprising (at least to me) range of things to do and places to visit within a 25 mile radius of Nercwys: picturesque villages, bustling market towns (e.g. Mold), cities (Chester), seaside towns (Rhyl, Prestatyn, Colwyn Bay, etc.), loads of countryside walks to suit all abilities, theatres, cinemas, stately homes and gardens, loads of castles ('tho' a lot of them ruins), tourist hotspot (Llangollen, with its steam railway), and even a World Heritage Site at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal. Despite the Covid-19 restrictions, we were still able to find plenty to occupy us throughout our week's stay. Whatever sort of holiday you might want (restful/ activity-packed/ historical/ cultural/ countryside/ beach, etc.) this area seems able to offer something for everyone.
