Area
These two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme, as well as the town's two waterfronts are what give Llandudno its unique appeal as a tourist destination. There are two outstanding beaches in the town: the North Shore, which has a wide promenade backed by an impressive crescent of Victorian hotels, and the quieter West Shore, which has miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and amazing views of Anglesey. However, for the best views, you can take the Great Orme Tramway or an exhilarating over-a-mile cable car ride to the summit of the 679ft Great Orme. The promenade is only a short distance from the town's excellent collection of stores, pubs, restaurants, and cafés.
