The nearby town of Penmaenmawr holds a strong mining history, and today it has been adapted into a charming community, retaining many of its Victorian architecture, with many local pubs, restaurants and shops, a superb golf course and golden, sandy beaches. There is also Conwy, which provides further amenities, whilst the Isle of Anglesea is a much-loved destination.
