Area
The first church was described in Llantwit Major, one of the most scenic communities in the Vale of Glamorgan, more than 1,500 years ago. Llantwit Major also features lush countryside, caves, and sandy beaches as its surrounds. For some retail therapy, travel across to nearby Cowbridge with its upscale boutiques, or make a brief trip to Bridgend, which has a vibrant town centre and popular outlet village. The seaside settlements of Barry Island and Porthcawl offer sandy beaches, a surf school, excellent fishing, and a well-liked park. The Wales Coast Path and the spectacularly gorgeous Glamorgan Heritage Coastline are also nearby. On the other side, Ogmore-by-the-Sea has a lengthy, undeveloped beach as well as a riding school where you may go on walks along the shore. You can easily travel to Cardiff or Swansea for shopping, theatre, concerts, and sporting events by rail or automobile. Discover the past by going to the well-known open-air Folk Museum in St. Fagans, close to Cardiff. A terrific starting point for fun days out visiting South Wales' stunning beaches and countryside.
