Madrid's most famous and central square, Puerta del Sol, is nine minutes on foot. The Casa de Correos here houses the regional government of the Comunidad de Madrid. There are several statues, too – the most notable is the statue of a bear looking for fruit on a madroño (strawberry tree) – the city's official symbol.
