Bayview House is a traditional, stone-built detached Skye cottage occupies an elevated hillside location three miles from Carbost, and offers fantastic views over Fiskavaig Bay to MacLeod's Tables beyond. It sleeps five people with flexible sleeping accommodation in a double, a twin and a single bedroom. There is also a shower room, a ground floor bathroom, kitchen, dining room and sitting room with open fire. Bayview House offers sea views from all rooms, and makes a wonderful getaway for friends or families.

Area
The lovely village of Carbost is situated on the Isle of Skye and is home to a shop, Post Office, pub serving local ale and seafood, and Skye's very own distillery.

Region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Fuel, power and starter pack for open fire inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. travel cot. Ample off road parking. Enclosed lawned garden surrounding cottage. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile. Beach 3 mins walk. Note: Single bedroom is small and bed can only be accessed from one side only.

This comfortable, peaceful, spacious cottage had an awe inspiring view of the bay.. It was well equipped, especially the kitchen (but would be nice to have a clothes airer for when the Scottish weather doesn’t allow use of the washing line!) and the bench outside is a nice touch. Due to COVID there was no information available at the property, however this was not an issue as the owner was incredibly helpful, even taking time to explain the history of the cottage as well as going above and beyond to call the next day to ensure we had sorted out the heating. The two main bedrooms were a lovely size with views over the bay although the third one would be suitable for a child only. The cottage is quite central to all the main attractions on Skye.

Bayview was in a wonderful location with fantastic views from most windows.. It was in a very peaceful spot so we were guaranteed a good night's sleep after long walks on Skye! It was extremely well equipped, warm and cosy. It was beautifully clean and we appreciated all the extra information, including the history of the house and suggested walks. We would certainly recommend this house to anyone planning to stay on the island of Skye.

This is a great cottage with fantastic views.. It's a traditional croft that has been sensitively modernised inside. It's really warm and comfortable and a fantastic place to spend a week on Skye. It's very well equipped, particularly in the kitchen and we had a really nice week in Fiskavaig.

I enjoyed staying in this great cottage with ever changing views of the bay only yards from the door, its location and setting, in the ever changing summer light of Scotland.. The location is very good for being able to take a trip out to anywhere on the island. The cottage is extremely well equipped and has excellent facilities. Comfy beds, excellent shower, plenty of space. And it has a lovely family history the owner shares in the information book. I would recommend this as a great stay for anyone wishing to have a holiday on Skye.

It was only in one particular area where we felt our expectations had not been met.. In all other areas, we were very happy with the Cottage, its aspect, and its facilities. Our disappointment was in the size of the single bedroom. It was simply not large enough for an adult, or adolescent, and is more suited to a child. As I say, the dbl bedroom and twin bedded rooms were absolutely fine, but the single room was cramped and awkward for an adult to sleep, and move around in with any reasonable degree of comfort.

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for a week as a relaxing break away from the city and something different. We've never done self catering before and this was a great first experience. I'd been to Skye climbing in the past but only stayed in hostels. We went to Portree, the Old man of Storr, faery pools, Eilean Donan Castle, Staffin beach (to hunt dinosaur fossils but ended up in the muesum lol) and Taigh Ailean for an amazing meal. This cottage is absolutely stunning! We crammed in a lot in a week but looked forward to returning to this cozy cottage everyday. The views morning, mid-day and night are stunning! Its well equipped, modernised, comfortable, spacious and SO RELAXING. Its so peaceful and quiet! The owner kindly put together a portfolio with helpful advice which was very much appreciated and we enjoyed reading the brief history about how the cottage came to be. Its been well looked after over the years and we feel privileged to have stumbled across this hidden little gem tucked away on the corner of Skye.

Very beautiful and very comfortable house.. It looks traditional, on the inside and the outside, but is fully equiped with all mod cons. Very spacious, nicely decorated, good clean beds. Unfortunaly we had a small problem with one of the showers, but as there are two in the house that was no problem. The owner reacted very prompt to our questions. The view from the house on Fiskavaig Bay is breathtaking! Skye is great for walking, visiting historic sites, (Dunvegan, Fairy Glen), lovely villages, restaurants and the Talisker distillery (close to Bayview House). We would recommend this house to everyone who loves the above!

There was not much more to be desired, it was a nice place and a prime location.. The information delivered was (key pickup etc) was all fine. One note to make is to stock up supplies (e.g. in Broadford at the Co-op, coming from Inverness and just over the Skye bridge) before one arrives, as the shop in Carbost is very limited and is not open on Sunday. Next nearest would be Portree, which is an hour drive away).

Lovely cottage but distance from main Skye road a little misleading.. It states leaving Carbost into Portnalong but it’s a good 2-3 miles actually to the cottage, on a pot- holed single track road. More remote than we expected.

This cottage was excellent, it was lovely that the heating was on when we arrived as had driven for over 12 hours to get there.. It was a very, quiet peaceful, cosy cottage with lots of storage space for clothes and belongings. We had one wet day and just enjoyed being there as the views were lovely. We were wondering about whether to book this cottage as there was no wifi but are glad we did but this may put people off. Also, the mobile phone signal was not good which was a bit of an inconvenience..

Bayview is a lovely cottage with beautiful views of the bay, quiet, peaceful, clean, warm and very comfortable inside.. There was everything we needed, the kitchen is fully equipped, lounge is cosy and comfortable sofas with TV, big dining room, two bathrooms. Perfectly for a family. The location is central - the Fairy Pools on the doorstep, the popular Sligachan and Glen Brittle are also only a short drive away. Not to mention the Talisker distillery which you pass every time you go out. We went walking everyday and was happy to come back and rest our tired legs in this lovely house and didn't want to leave. Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Skye!

This is our second visit to Bayview - every bit as good as our October visit.. Again the cottage was so clean and comfortable, and we are getting to know the neighbours. The Fiskavaig area is delightful, and again we were blessed with amazing weather. The views of the Bay at all times never ceases to give Wonder!

We were exceptionally lucky with the weather in Skye for our whole 2 weeks.. Bayview had the most idyllic position with stunning views. It's location was also perfect for getting to the rest of the Island. We really did not want to come home. I have been to Skye before, but not for so long. It made us realise what a really beautiful place Skye is. We are hoping to come again next year.

What a beautiful place, Myself and My Husband dont really do walking as both in our 50's we love to get away from it all and have a peaceful relaxing time without all the noise and pollution, This was perfect for us ! We did a couple of walks to fairy pools and old man of storr, but much preferred to stay at the House and have a beer whilst sitting at the picnic bench and enjoying the breathtaking views, absolutely spectacular. Had a visit every day from a Roe Deer that loved to venture into the garden and the birds singing to us, very relaxing and great way to recharge the old batteries. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.! I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK PLEASE SELL ME YOUR HOUSE !!!
