The Gate Lodge is a charming holiday cottage, in Easter Balgedie, a small hamlet set between the dramatic Lomond Hills and stunning Loch Leven. The nearest town is Kinross, Perth and Edinburgh are in easy reach along the M90, and Fife's beaches and many wonderful golf courses are all close by too.Guests come back year after year to enjoy The Gate Lodge's homely charm, wonderful location and stunning views.The cottage sleeps five comfortably. There's one double bedroom, a twin and a single, although the twin can be converted into a double on request and an additional child's bed or cot can be provided too.There's a well equipped kitchen with a dining table and chairs and a high chair's available for smaller guests. The sitting room has an open fireplace, comfortable sofas and a TV and dvd player. There's also lots of board games and books, and there's even an old piano and guitar for all to use too. The sunroom is bright and cheerful, ideal for relaxing in and enjoying the amazing Loch views. And the beautiful garden, complete with bbq, garden furniture and a covered patio, is fully enclosed making it safe and easy for those with small children or pets.As the cottage is all on one level, it makes it easy for elderly guests or very young children, who struggle with stairs.Pets are also welcome but we respectfully ask that owners keep them off the furniture and do not allow them into the bedrooms. All prices include electricity, bed linen, towels, and logs and coal in the winter. A welcome pack of coffee, tea, sugar, milk, toilet roll and washing up liquid is also provided.Smoking is not permitted inside this property but is allowed in the garden.
If you love fishing then staying at the Gate Lodge in Easter Balgedie is a great base for those wanting to fish in central Scotland. Not only is there fishing on Loch Leven but with being so close to the M90 to Perth there's the likes of the River Tay and River Earn very close by too. Spend happy days on the banks and then come home each evening to enjoy the pretty sunroom and cosy log fire. And enjoy a comfortable night's sleep before venturing out again the next day!
If you're looking for an adventurous and sporty holiday - then choosing to stay at the Gate Lodge is a great choice! There is so much to do on the doorstep - many activities don't even require getting in a car! And even they do, nothing is very far away. There's a famous gliding centre, wonderful walks and cycle routes, beaches and watersports, many golf courses, local tennis clubs, fishing on Loch Leven and in nearby rivers, a dry ski slope in the warmer months and it's not too far to Scotland's ski slopes such as Glenshee, in the winter too!

If you love golf then look no further than the Gate Lodge in Easter Balgedie for your next break! There are so many courses to choose from in the area it's hard to know where to start! Bishopshire Golf course is rated as one of the most beautiful small courses in Scotland, with extraordinary views of Loch Leven, and is great for beginners as well as those with more experience. They are also extremely welcoming to guests too. Kinross offers some wonderful courses too and being on the border of Fife, all the famous ones there are within easy reach. There's also the famous ones at Gleneagles and St Andrews which are both less then an hour away, for that extra special round! Play them all and come back home each night to the Gate Lodge to relive each hole and shot, in the sunroom whilst enjoying the sunset or by the open fire.
We love animals and are very pleased for your pets to come on holiday with you to The Gate Lodge. We would respectfully ask however that all are well behaved and aren't allowed to sit in the furniture and are kept out of the bedrooms. The enclosed garden means it's very safe for them to wander outside and the sunroom makes for a perfect spot for dog baskets! There are also lots of dog friendly walks in the area, many straight from our front door!
As the Gate Lodge is all on one level, it is very easy for those who struggle getting up and down stairs to come and stay. We do not have any built in assistance for the bathroom etc but it is very manageable for those with moderate accessibility concerns.
