Muir of Ord, on the North Coast 500, is a small Highland settlement adjacent to the Beauly Firth, with easy access to Beauly, Dingwall, and Inverness (15 miles to the east). Muir of Ord is a little community with butchers, bakers, chemist, pharmacy, chip shop, and Co-op. Glen Ord Distillery and Visitor Centre is a 5-star, award-winning attraction open year-round. Muir of Ord Golf Course and Ben Wyvis are nearby. Beauly, a few miles distant, offers superb shopping, fine Scottish tweeds, knitwear, and crafts, as well as boutique hotels and cafes. The Black Isle contains some of the most beautiful glens, flora and animals in Scotland. Glen Affric, a National Nature Reserve, has been dubbed the most beautiful of all the Scottish glens. It's perfect for walkers and bikers, with peaceful roads extending deep into the glen.
