We give Glaven a top recommendation.. Glaven is a lovely, spacious house, set back from the road, with stunning views to the south across the Dornoch Firth. At the house, there were endless opportunities to relax and be entertained; dawn light on the water, ospreys hovering for their prey and a multitude of other birds, through to spectacular sunsets over the Kyle of Sutherland. The accommodation and facilities were as described (and better) although I do think that Wi-Fi is essential nowadays, especially when mobile coverage is so patchy in the area.
The village can meet all of your basic needs with a special mention for Crannag Bistro, truly exceptional food and Ardgay Game for venison and more. Lots to do in the area as well; outdoors, golf, history and heritage are all to the fore. Handy for the North Coast 500 as well!
