Area
The country town of Dalbeattie is in the southwest of Scotland. It sits within a wooded valley and boasts a range of amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Nearby are Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright and Dumfries, all are within 15 miles and are wonderful spots for a day trip. The stunning Galloway Forest Park is close by and is wonderful for outdoor lovers.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

A great area I know well & the cottage is an ideal place situated quietly away from all hustle & bustle but close enough to the beach & other attractions, super owner, very friendly & the cottage was well equipped, cosy well kitted kitchen etc.. superb.

Brillant property.. Superb position, 1 mile to Sandyhills beach, 10 mins to Dalbeattie and 20 mins to Castle Douglas with a lovely range of independent shops. Bracken cottage is a beautiful property with a gorgeous view. The cottage has everything you could need. Plenty of parking and although right next door to the farm very private. It's definitely not if we would return but when!

Lovely detached cottage next to the owners farm, however there is no noise or effects from this.. Owner very friendly. One mile from a beach with walks and walks at Covend to Kippford, so great for families. Lots to see round and about and a great 12 mile round trip through Forrest to Dalbeattie from Covend. Beds really comfy, sofas in lounge not so comfy.

Great place to rest and relax lovely countryside beaches about a five minute car ride away with access to two beaches in the area parking is pay display at both beaches..

Excellent location, close to a sandy beach with parking, toilets and a shop.. Despite being attached to a farm, there is clear separation to ensure your privacy. Very clean, owner on hand if you have any problems or queries. Very comfortable. Quiet and lovely to watch the swifts going in and out of the nests. Dalbeattie close.
