West Lodge is a popular holiday retreat, located in Linrathen, Scotland. Near to the town of Kirriemuir. It consists of three double bedrooms, with each one having it's own traditional fireplace. The lodge can sleep up to six people. The property also has a bathroom, stylish kitchen, living/dining area with another traditional fireplace. Off-road parking is available for two cars, while there is an enclosed garden. West Lodge is a great place for families or groups of friends to explore what is a stunning part of Scotland. Note: This property is a 4pm check-in time. Please note: There is now an EV charging point at this property-please notify owner if this is needed. Garden, please be advised that the garden and grounds are not fully enclosed we therefore advise that children and pets should be supervised at all times.

Three bedrooms: 3 x double with open fires. Bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin. Kitchen. Living/dining area. En suite toilet and basin in ground floor double room.

Area
Kirriemuir is located in the valley of Strathmore, known as the gateway to the Angus Glens, offering stunning landscape. The town is birthplace of novelist JM Barrie, creator of the Peter Pan and his house is now a museum looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. Kirriemuir offers an Aviation Museum, Glamis Castle and the historic Pictish Stones at Meigle, while the Angus Glens offer hill walking and climbing routes. There are also a variety of shops, hotels and pubs in the town and surrounding area, to suit all tastes.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Oil central heating with open fire places. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, WiFi, Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Fuel and power inc in rent. Cot and highchair available. Off-road parking for 3 cars. Garden, please be advised that the garden and grounds are not fully enclosed we therefore advise that children and pets should be supervised at all times. One well behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Peel Farm Coffee and Craft shop 100 metres. Shop 8 miles and pub 6 miles. The owner of west lodge has made us aware the new check in time will be 5pm for the foreseeable future,this is to create more time in between bookings to clean and sanitize the property. The owner has also requested that guests bring their own bed linen and towels (duvets, mattress and pillow protectors will be provided) the owner feels this is the safest route to take given the current situation, If there are any issues surrounding this request, please contact us. Please Note: As from January 2023, linen will be provided, guests will need to bring their own towels. The property is unique and has real character.. Set in amongst nature, it's the perfect location to really get away from it all. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to visit again. The owners are extremely accommodating and couldn't have been kinder. This house is a rare gem and hugely recommended.

Lovely area to be in at this time of year.. Scenery is stunning with the colours of Autumn. Plenty of wildlife to see when dog walking especially at the Loch if you're there early morning or dusk. Peel Farm cafe is great for food and the adjoining shop has some lovely gifts etc. Glamis Castle is a great day out and only 20 mins away by car.

Fabulous location rural and rustic.. The property was over 100 years old and had many of the original fixtures. Modernised in tthe important areas of the kitchen and bathroom. The area as described was rural. Far from the madding crowd. With a car we could pop to any nearby facility. Breakfast at Peel Farm and coffee shop. Shopping in Blairgowrie. Pub in Alyth. The living area at West Lodge was very spacious. The kitchen was great for cooking or eating. Dining table in living room was big for larger groups. The bedrooms were huge. Each bed was different so pick your bed carefully. Loads of draws and cupboard space. The bathroom was modern again a huge room. I used the shower only but equally the bath was there if needed. Many easy walks on nearby flat areas including the loch. Loch has angling. Golf courses are plentiful. Was very enjoyable stay with a brief visit from the owner to ensure every thing was perfect.

The Lodge was everything we hoped for and more.. It is a wonderful house and a lovely private garden. We had a fantastic stay, the Lodge had everything anyone could ask for. It was a short stroll through the woods to a beautiful loch. The owners are lovely and only minutes away should you need them. My sons, the dog and I had a wonderful time. Bikes can be hired locally, which my sons did. Highly recommended.
