The Gothic Village in Aroeira, Setubal

Description
Designed by the owner, a lot of love has gone into this villa. The shaded veranda dappled with botanica and furnished with hanging chairs, lounge areas and a summer kitchen is what drew us to this home. Within the vast lawn, an inviting swimming pool awaits and Aroeira’s golf course is just next door. It feels a bit like an art gallery inside, and the eye is immediately drawn to the striking central fireplace in the sunny living room. Bedrooms are vintage in furnishings (some might say dated), and those in the box room might feel as though they’ve drawn the short straw. But there’s a huge games room in the basement and the kitchen can cater for big family meals, no problem.

Home truths:
*At capacity, two guests will be on twin beds in the small box room.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*The swimming pool isn't fenced. If you're bringing little ones, they'll need to be supervised at all times.
*Having a car is recommended and there is private parking for up to four cars with this home.
