Enjoy an espresso and a pastry at the cosy breakfast nook before taking to Lisbon’s cobbled streets—catch the unmistakable 28 tram from nearby Martim Moniz if you don’t fancy climbing the hills. The lively Largo do Intendente square is a five-minute walk east where cafes and bars serve coffee and beer into the small hours. Your nearest Metro station is closer still and will take you to downtown in just seven minutes. As soon as you arrive, pick a spot on the banks of the River Tagus to watch the sunset dip behind the iconic red suspension bridge.
